Three Points About The Ebola Epidemic That No One Wants To Talk About

I heard a man on the radio today (who was replacing a local Talk Show Host for Rosh Hashanah) make some pretty startling claims about the Ebola epidemic.

He said:

1)  An Ebola-laden corpse is completely infested with Ebola - the human body contains it's highest levels of the virus at the time of death.

2) In Liberia and other African nations, it is the custom for family and friends to was the corpse as part of the preparation for burial - they do this without taking any precautions against infection

3) the common people of African nations do not trust the words of people with the World Health Organization - so when the WHO tells the people not to touch the corpses of dead friends and relatives, they do not listen - they seem to literally believe that the WHO BRINGS the Ebola virus with them because "when the WHO shows up, people die" and they believe that means the Ebola virus was BROUGHT to them by the WHO

Has anyone else heard this?

Ahh, here we go, from the Washington Post:
The virus is extraordinarily lethal, killing about half the people infected, though in some regions it has killed close to 70 percent. The virus is spread by bodily fluids; corpses are viral bombs, and the traditional practice of washing the dead for burial has been implicated in the explosion of the disease.

Yes, we all heard this. But we are not the ones with infected dead friends and relatives. Maybe that´s why now the authorities are planning to take sick people away from the family homes. And once they die, they should not be returned to the families, but burned, religion or not. Period.
