FBI's Chechens come home to roost

I woke up this morning both elated and pissed. Elated because the two men that the government are allowing to be called the suspects (and take the total rap) have been brought to justice.
Pissed because we now find out that the FBI was warned about Tamerlan Tsarnaev, by Russia. That they interviewed him and then closed the file.
Now I can understand that the FBI cannot monitor and keep track of every single person who comes here from another country. Considering how "open" our borders are, that would be impossible.
But dude, they were given specific information on one single individual who came from a known hotbed of Islamic radicalization. Would it be too much to ask that they at least spend a little time monitoring him?
Afterall, in the aftermath of all of this, there were clear signs that he was radicalized. It would not have been that difficult to find out, the information was on the internet for crying out loud.
Are we to believe that unless the individuals are part of a large group, well known and information is handed to the FBI that the person has bombs in their basement, they are free to go about their radicalized business until people die?
How protected are we really?
I have said it before, OUR FREEDOM IS GOING TO GET US KILLED!
People should not be able to walk into our country knowing full well that they can get away with attacking us, because they will have so much freedom, that nobody will be paying them any attention.
This PC business is bullshit. It is not 90 year old chinese ladies attacking us. The fact that we as a country are not allowed "to get into the business" of Muslims, is why these attacks will continue.
Freedom isn't free. If they are Muslim, from a known terrorist hotbed, they should be forced to earn that freedom!
On another note, this nationalized citizenship business. Who is coming over here, living quietly, blending in, waiting for "the call" to Jihad and becoming nationalized citizens in the meantime?
Nationalized citizenship should be a privilege. A privilege that can be taken away if that person becomes an enemy of our country. And then, they need to be dealt with by the military. Period.
They were not born here! I don't give a fuck if they learn how to read English  pretend to pledge the flag and know how to lie through their damn teeth! They get that paper and the right to be treated like a  burglar when they blow our people up?!

Homegrown terror: 'FBI thought Chechens would only attack Russians'

The Tsarnaev brothers managed to slip through the US security net and commit the Boston attack because of oversights in American intelligence, experts told RT. This act of “homegrown” terror has raised serious questions about the role of the FBI.
The US press has traditionally portrayed Chechen terrorism as a specifically Russian issue, and as such assumed that they would not be hostile toward the US, journalist Neil Clark told RT in an interview.
“It could be because of their Chechen background, because I think the way that this conflict [the Chechen Wars of 1994-96 and 1999-2009] has been portrayed in the Western media, the American media, has been that the Russians have been the bad guys,” noted Clark. He suggested that this stigma attached to Chechnya could be the reason why security checks were not carried out on the Tsarnaev brothers arrived in the US.
“Their thought was ‘These people have a Chechen background if they’re going to be attacking anybody it’s going to be Russian targets, not American targets,’” said Clark. Dzhokhar had received US citizenship and lived in America for a number of years, while his older brother Tamerlan was a legal permanent resident.
Political commentator, Aleksandr Nekrasov noted there is a
“certain state of shock that these two people are connected to Chechnya.” “But I think that they are shocked because I think that basically the intelligence services were expecting some loner, maybe some Nazi, some white supremacist, who got his grievances with the federal Government,” Nekrasov told RT. He went on to say that in spite of the existence of a YouTube account where the brothers broadcast the fact that they were from Chechnya and “didn’t hide the fact that they were terrorists,” the FBI did not flag the brothers as a potential terrorist threat.
Terror in US backyard
The fact that the two brothers were able to live in the US and were granted green cards while fostering extremist views has raised serious questions over the effectiveness of US law enforcement, geopolitical analyst from Stopimperialism.com, Eric Draitser believes.
“We, of course, know that many other incidents of terrorism in, so-called, homegrown terrorism raise very serious questions about the role of so called law enforcement in all of this,” commented Draitser. He then hinted that FBI was moving in to sweep details of the attack under the rug,
“essentially relegating anyone, who asks those questions to the dust bin.” “We’ve seen the FBI taking over the investigation, we’ve seen the FBI systematically removing from the narrative the pictures of private military contractors in Boston,” Draitser concluded.
Nekrasov reiterated this point, emphasizing that the US War on Terror is being conducted in an often counterproductive way.
“I think the main problem here is that the war on terror across the world and the Middle East and elsewhere – I think it’s not actually conducted in a way that can prevent more terrorist attacks in the West and the US itself.”
Following the massive manhunt that led to the killing of Tamerlan Tsarnaev and the eventual capture of his younger brother Dzhokhar, former mayor of New York Rudolph Giuliani remarked that the US had considered Chechen terror groups an intrinsically Russian problem.
“We don’t have that kind of problem here in the US. If anything the US has expressed a little bit of sympathy for them [Chechens],” Giulani told Bloomberg.

@Christine,

I was nodding up until the point where you started quoting from RT. They had quotes from Stopimperialism.com, a blog that praises Venezuelan government for its programs to eradicate poverty...I was both laughing out loud and pissed that people can be so dumb and stupid as to believe the bullsh*t spread by Chavez and his cronies about poverty programs.

Anyway, knowing RT's agenda, I would much rather trust CNN (*GASP*) than RT.

The FBI let him go two years ago, we don't know why. Maybe the system is broken, maybe there weren't any warning signs that Americans could see (Russia has had to deal with Chechens for much longer and they are less politically correct).

This is the same bullsh*t that came out right after 9/11. From "what did Bush know?" to "its an inside job" in no time. People live on sensationalism, it seems. Whether on the right or the left of politics, the blame game continues just the same.

It seems that what people think and know Russia is capable of, they apply to the US. It is widely "believed" that Putin bombed an apartment complex in 1999 to wage a war against Chechen terrorists in Chechnya. I don't know how true that is but do I think Putin capable of that? Yes. Do I think the American Federal government capable of that? Not yet.

To the points made by you, I agree. American citizenship system is broken. Faisal Shahzad was given citizenship and he tried to blow up Times Square. The younger brother was granted citizenship on 9/11/2012 (by the way, the older brother's citizenship was held because of the FBI investigation against him) and he blew up innocent people in Boston.

I also agree that people born in or belonging to Muslim countries should be put on a separate list. Islamic centers need to be monitored. Muslims need to pay the price for clinging on to their hateful religion so others can live in peace.

And lastly, even though this would affect me negatively if I wanted to move to the US, immigration from Europe should be encouraged while immigration from the Middle East or other Muslim countries should be discouraged.

My choice of post was merely about what was stated; the assumption that Chechens were not considered a threat here. If the article had come from CNN, I would have posted it. It was the gist of the article. Sorry.

I know there are people who come from Muslim countries who either are Christians, ex muslims or truly non believers. These facts should be immediately apparent. So those people could be ruled out as non threatening.

The one's we should be monitoring are those who attend mosque regularly. As we here have discovered through these years, many of the radical ideas are coming straight from the Imams.

This has been proven time and time again. Our freedom rules do not allow us to shut down the mosque or shut up the Imam. But, those who attend, in particular those who have recently arrived here, should be monitored.

What the FBI is allowed to do these days is questionable. There have been so many complaints and lawsuits headed by CAIR, that I am pretty sure the FBI have been handed kid gloves and have been forced to walk on eggshells.

I think its more a misunderstanding of Islam that doesn't allow for shutting down of mosques. Its like saying, "We can't shut down mob operations because of our freedom." But yeah, that misunderstanding is not going away anytime soon. Hence I said that mosques and Islamic centers need to be monitored. They are even monitored in the UAE, for crying out loud!

As for non threatening Christians (or ex-Muslims). Well Christians in Gaza celebrate the death of innocent Israelis along with their murderous Muslim neighbors.

I know Christians from Lebanon and Syria that hope for and wish for the destruction of America and Israel everyday and say they'd stand with Muslims in any war against the West.

I know ex Muslims from Pakistan who celebrate attacks on the US.

I know a guy in Dubai who converted to Christianity and then decided Islam was much better.

I'm an ex Muslim and I wish I could say that once someone makes the decision to leave Islam, that means they're safe to be around. I wish that was the case but some feel the pull of Islam even when they've left it.

Christians in Muslim countries are brainwashed with the same bullsh*t Muslims believe.

So, no you can't trust people from Muslim countries.

"...OUR FREEDOM IS GOING TO GET US KILLED!"

Our Constitutional rights (freedom) are not going to get us killed--
Our weak response to PC - and altered vernacular - are going to get us killed--

To become a naturalized citizen used to be very difficult--now- w/ PC and weak minded leaders-we are vulnerable--

Sorry to bombard your post with comments but I have always told my wife that the moment I start getting soft on Islam or start justifying jihad is the moment she needs to be as far away from me as possible.

Islam is cancer. I have tried to cut as much of it from myself as possible...I believe I have cut it away fully. But one should never risk it. People that have truly left Islam hate it. And tell others about how evil it is...while others claim they have left Islam but in reality they never have and they never will.

It takes a lifestyle change. It takes you having to take steps that you previously thought would land you in hell. One of my first moves was to desecrate the Quran. Sounds childish and stupid but desecrating the Quran is an unforgivable offense in Islam.

Another move was to eat pork (mmmmm bacon!).

And one of the other moves that is unforgivable that I undertook was to look at Israel in a logical manner and see who was guilty and who was innocent in this war between Muslims and Jews.

Anyway, I don't wanna bore you with my stories but the belief that if someone calls themselves ex Muslim, then they're trustworthy can be misplaced.

You're not bombarding or boring me Nico. I am very pleased to have you around. Someone who "knows" the topic.

I do understand what you are saying about the Christians and ex muslims from these countries.

They would have to be thoroughly vetted. Those who come out and strongly speak against Islam would be safe. Those who speak positively about Israel would be safe.

But, not all of these people who come over speak out one way or another. And of course, there are limited resources.

This is a tough situation. I like Robin William's idea (my new post), they are not allowed in.

But we all know that won't happen. What needs to be done is a more thorough vetting of everyone, before they are let in.

Those who pass that, should be monitored until a "comfort level" is reached.

The Boston bomber who was interviewed should have been monitored. His ties to Islam were quite apparent.

All we can hope for is that the FBI has learned a lesson.

I don't care if new arrivals are made uncomfortable. That is the FBI's job and they should be doing it better.

If Obama is honestly serious about preventing any future attacks, he needs to prove it.

I don't believe he is.

Christian Soldier

I understand what you are saying. What I mean by our freedom is going to get us killed is, in our country, we are pretty much allowed to do anything we want, without any oversite.

The Imam's, the left wingers, right wingers, kkk, ect. are allowed to meet, come up with deadly plots, spew hatred and recruit. All under our noses. You can say anything you want here, without any oversite.

Because of this, "babes in the woods" minds are being turned towards whatever radical idea these people are filling them with.

These are dams that need to be stopped up.

And especially when it comes to the mosques. A know "training ground" for the terrorists in training.

So, this is what I mean by that statement.

I find that I can't get most with whom I speak in my workplace to understand that sedition and treason are being fomented in mosques here in America. "First Amendment! Freedom of religion!" they invariable cry.

These ostriches really believe that "Islam is just another religion."

These people are in a coma -- a vegetative state. I've come to the conclusion that very, very few can be awakened.

Even worse are the young people of high school and college age. They, too, are absolutely convinced of just-another-religion thing; such has been the case since at least 1998 that I personally know of.

Always On Watch said...

And one more thing....High schoolers in America have been taught since at least 1998 that I personally know of the follow: The Chechen rebels are freedom fighters and should be lauded and respected.

Prove the above to yourself. Ask someone in high school or in college about the Chechens.

Christine said...

You got that right AOW! A whole generation being raised without the honest knowledge of Islam.

Christine,
I decided to turn that brief comment into a post of its own here at IBA.

I think that we need to be proactive and ask students whom we personally know a few questions.

Nico@5:07 re:"The FBI let him go two years ago, we don't know why."

We may not know why yet, but it should be explored by our elected officials. I suspect the following may have played a part . . .
2006 affirmative action push to heavily recruit Muslim agents into the FBI

It was around this time [mid-decade] that the 'cultural sensitivity training' ethic snowballed resulting with the escalating purge of sharia-cognizant non-Muslim personnel and Islam-related unflattering documentation. It would not surprise me to discover that this sensitivity training or worse, a Muslim was responsible for dismissing/closing the file on Tamaran two years ago.

@Anon,

Yup. Never said forget about it. Just our conjecture into conspiracy theories doesn't help anyone. Once we figure out more, we can make our conclusions but right now we don't know enough.

Its very possible he was let go because he was a Muslim but until anyone gives me more information on this I'm not going to pull a liberal and blame the government for designing a conspiracy just because I don't know all the facts.

Dead terror suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev's best friend had his 'throat slit' in an unsolved murder in 2011 as family members today told of how he was known to 'manipulate and use' his brother.

The older of the suspected marathon bombers was the black sheep of the family who 'used his younger brother' and had fallen out with an uncle he called on the eve of his death, relatives have said.

It has emerged the terror suspect's best friend died in a gruesome unsolved murder two years ago, just after Tamerlan said he had 'one
single American friend'.
