The only thing that DOES make sense is buying a shotgun for self defense (now THAT'S one shot stopping power).
Beyond that it's all downhill.
(I keep a shotgun by the bed, but it's a Remington 870 pump in 20 gauge. And it's backed up by a Smith and Wesson Model 15-3 snubnose in the night stand drawer. Or maybe the snub is backed up by the scattergun. The lines get muddied so easily. And that's just for when I'm sleeping. . .)
