Heavy Metal is a Zionist Plot

It's time to update the List again. This time the great threat to Islam is heavy metal music.

The following are excerpts from an interview with Tuhami Muntasir, a former advisor to the mufti of Egypt, and heavy metal fans in Egypt, which aired on Egypt's Dream 2 TV on February-March, 2010.

· To view this clip on MEMRI TV, visit http://www.memritv.org/clip/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/2437.htm.

Tuhami Muntasir: "Let me tell you that the phenomenon that we are witnessing right now is a clear manifestation of a well-funded Zionist campaign, which is based on a 'constitution' – The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. With your permission, I am not done yet. Protocols of the Elders of Zion – that founding constitution… What does Zionism want to accomplish? You are an intellectual, and you know this. It wants to rule the world."

Interviewer: "Let’s be reasonable."

Tuhami Muntasir: "It wants to rule the world. Let me finish. It wants to rule the world. Zionism has means to do so, and it has priorities. The Zionists say: We will establish clubs and we will draw people, who have certain characteristics and who are willing to collaborate, and we will bring them to the top of the pyramid…"

Interviewer: "But they are not spies…"

Tuhami Muntasir: "The third priority of the Elders of Zion is drug trafficking, and facilitating the spread of abomination, so that societies become enslaved to their desires and urges…"

Interviewer: "Let’s return to the heavy metal fans…"

Tuhami Muntasir: "That way, the countries will collapse with no need to resort to weapons. Ruling the world is the real and stated goal of global Zionism."

So heavy metal is all we need for a peaceful overthrow of Islamist regimes? Then let the party begin!

"Follow us blindly or die like a dog
Blood mixed with sand for this holy war
Your saviors a killer, you die for Allah
You are all children of a worthless god"

Madame Provocateur

In Mary's Image first alerted me to this last night.

I can believe every word of it. Easily. Even the charges of the nigger and faggot epithet being used have been shown to be untrue (wish I could remember where I saw that).

In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if the original intent was to actually stir up some physical violence so they would really have something to use against us.

First Director Blue/Doug Ross:

A Tale of Two Time-Stamps: Smoking Gun Proof that Democrats, The Huffington Post and McLatchy Conspired to Smear Tea Party Activists?

In today's American Thinker, Jack Cashill does an exceptional job describing the timeline related to the events of March 20th, in which members of Congress were reportedly taunted by Tea Party activists with racial and sexual slurs.

[Members of Congress] left the Cannon Building about 2:30 PM on March 20th and
returned about 3:15 PM...

I asked because at 4:51 that same day, McClatchy reporter William Douglas posted an article on the McClatchy website with the inflammatory headline, "Tea party protesters scream 'ni--er' at black

In other words, Douglas, with an attributed assist from James Rosen, managed to interview representatives John Lewis, Emanuel Cleaver, and Barney Frank, compose an 800-word article, and have it edited and formatted for posting within a 90-minute window.

During that same 90 minutes, Douglas would have received and incorporated a press release from Emanuel Cleaver, making the easily disproved claim that he had "been spat upon and that Capitol Police had arrested his assailant."

But Douglas also had two other important sources: he referenced two additional journalists in the very same article.

Frank told the Boston Globe that the incident happened as he was walking from
the Longworth office building to the Rayburn office building, both a short distance from the Capitol. Frank said the crowd consisted of a couple of hundred of people and that they referred to him as 'homo.' A writer for The Huffington Post said the protesters called Frank a "faggot."

But the Huffington Post's article, by Sam Stein, wasn't published until 4:56pm, five minutes after Douglas' article was posted on the web. This mistake would seem to point to wanton collusion between the two authors as they hastily worked to market the smears

In about 90 minutes, Stein himself cranked out a 400-word piece in record time after interviewing Rep. James Clyburn and a staffer.

First Posted: 03-20-10 04:56 PM
A staffer for Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.) told reporters that Rep. Emanuel
Cleaver (D-Mo.) had been spat on by a protestor. Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), a hero
of the civil rights movement, was called a 'ni--er.' And Rep. Barney Frank
(D-Mass.) was called a "faggot," as protestors shouted at him with deliberately
lisp-y screams. Frank, approached in the halls after the president's speech,
shrugged off the incident... But Clyburn was downright incredulous, saying he
had not witnessed...

What about the Boston Globe?

It appears that the first Boston Globe article to mention the incident didn't actually hit the website until the following day.

Why did Pelosi, Frank and members of the Congressional Black Caucus take the long walk directly in front of the Tea Party protests, as opposed to using the tunnel as they do 99.9% of the time?

It appears that it was a conspiracy.

In 90 minutes, a press release was crafted by Cleaver's office, McClatchy and HuffPro "reporters" interviewed a half dozen individuals, wrote lengthy articles, referenced each others material (despite it not having been published) while receiving and incorporating said press release.

This appears to be nothing less than a criminal scam -- a mashup effort by Congress and sympathetic media -- designed to promote racial hatred in order to advance a radical Democrat agenda.

Update at 6:24pm: Thanks to links from Michelle Malkin and Jim Hoft, this story caught the attention of McClatchy's DC bureau and its online editor, Mark Seibel. Seibel comments:

I edited the Bill Douglas story in question. As anyone who works in media today
knows, the Web isn't a newspaper and its stories aren't created like newspaper stories either. Surely, the author of this piece knows that.

Here's the real timeline:

Bill's first version of the story was posted at 5:01 p.m. (Eastern)
Here it is in its entirety: "WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., said Saturday that some demonstrators gathered outside the Capitol to protest the health care overhaul legislation called him "ni--er." [Ed: Redaction mine]

Lewis, a longtime civil rights activist who is head of the Congressional
Black Caucus, said some demonstrators also spat on black members of Congress
as they left the Capitol after meeting with President Barack Obama.

The claim could not immediately be confirmed."

The story then went through 13 additional iterations, each adding detail. The second
version, posted at 5:12 p.m., corrected when the incident had taken place it was on the way to the Capitol that the n-word incident happened, not on the way back) and was nine graphs long. The last graph cited a CNN report on the Barney Frank incident. That citation was changed to HuffPost in version 4 at 5:19 p.m. after I was
alerted by a Nico Pitney tweet.

The Boston Globe version of events was added to the story at 6:54 p.m. after Bill heard the audio of the Globe's interview with Frank. At that point the story, in its seventh version, had grown to 16 paragraphs.

James Clyburn's comments were added in Version 9, at 7:35 p.m. The statement from Emanuel Cleaver's office was added in Version 13, at 8:33 p.m. At that point
the story was 25 paragraphs long.

The final version, posted three minutes later, made some minor word changes.

That's the timeline from McClatchy's internal audit system.

I sent an email to Seibel asking for some screen-caps from the web site CMS (content management system). I will add updates if I receive responses.

Now there are a couple of additional questions I have for Mark.

1. How is it that an inflammatory word like ni--er wasn't redacted, especially when the story was unconfirmed?
2. Now that more than a dozen videos have emerged of the walks, with none showing the use of a racial epithet, how is that a retraction was never issued for this story?
3. Does it strike you as odd that McClatchy's Nico Pitney re-tweeted an inflammatory HuffPo headline within one minute, apparently without even reading the accusation?
4. Does anyone wonder what's going with HuffPo's CMS when the story says it was "First Posted: 03-20-10 04:56 PM" (see above for screen-shot), yet tweet links started occurring 45 minutes before that timestamp?

Put simply, Mark, this entire story -- from the highly unusual walk through a massive protest, to the instant posting of racially divisive words and inflammatory rhetoric (without a whit of confirmation) -- stinks to high heaven. Are you folks journalists or flacks? Because, from all appearances, it looks like you're the latter.

Andrew Breitbart offered $100,000 to anyone who can provide proof that the slur occurred. No one has taken him up on his offer.

Update at 9:54pm: McClatchy DC online editor Mark Seibel was kind enough to respond twice tonight. His first email reads:

I've seen no video of the event. The americanthinker video displayed is not the event -- the Capitol is clearly in the background and the Congressmen are walking away from it, not to it. The n-word incident, as relayed to Bill, happened when they were headed to the Capitol. I went over this afternoon to see where the videographer was standing when he shot what's on the Web. There's no way it could represent the incident as the incident was relayed to Bill -- or at a time consistent with when Bill interviewed both Lewis and Cleaver in the Visitors Center before they left to go back to their offices. If the videographer had been there when the Congressmen left for the Capitol, that would be useful. But I've yet to see a video of that. As for a screen capture of the story versions, I think I can do it. We'll soon find out.

In response to my request for screen-caps of the McClatchy content management system, Mark did relay the following images a bit later (click to zoom):

Ok. here are two png files. I couldn't get one screen grab that captured the whole thing but i think these two together work. you'll notice a version 15; that's something I did today when I noticed I hadn't clicked the correct box for archiving sales on the first version back on the 20th. there wasn't a change in the story, just how its source (McClatchy, AP etc.) was categorized. I'm sorry they aren't more legible, but i think you can make them out. To the right of the headline you'll see a number in parentheses. this is the word count of that particular version, which would include summaries, links etc.

Note the 4:51pm "release date" at the top of the screen. This corresponds to Jack Cashill's time-stamp for the publication of the original story.

I very much appreciate Mr. Seibel's forthright approach and help. That said, answers to the questions I posed, above, would be very helpful. I will update this post as events warrant.

Update at 10:29pm: I've been reconstructing the chain of events on Twitter. Recall that Seibel said he altered Douglas' article to refer "to HuffPost in version 4 at 5:19 p.m. after I was alerted by a Nico Pitney tweet."

Let's ignore the fact that a mainstream media outlet instantly modified a major news article based upon a re-tweet by a Huffington Post associate. Nico's tweets are screen-capped above. About ten minutes after @CrewOf42 tweeted that Rep. Carson said he'd been called the "N-word", the HuffPo DC bureau chief re-tweeted the news. There was no link and no attribution associated with this message.

@CrewOf42 is the Twitter handle for Lauren Victoria Burke, a self-described "unbought and unbossed" blogger reporting upon "the 42 members of the Congressional Black Caucus."

Her first tweet reporting the incident came at 2:34pm, just four minutes after -- according to Cashill's timeline -- the CBC departed the Cannon Building for the Capitol.

Now that's service! Four minutes after setting off on his walk, Carson verbally informed a reporter that he'd been called the N-word? Give me a freaking break.

Ok, that was from yesterday. Today Michele Bachmann is echoing pretty much the same thing.

Bachmann: Pelosi May Have Incited Tea Partyers
Friday, 02 Apr 2010 03:02 PM

By: Dan Weil

Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., says House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may have tried to provoke a negative response when she led Democratic legislators through protesting conservatives the day health care was passed.

Democrats accuse the tea partyers of using racial epithets against black congress members, as they crossed the street to vote. Bachmann and other conservatives say Democrats are lying about the incident.

“Remember when Speaker Pelosi walked arm and arm in a civil rights march across Independence Ave. from the House buildings to the Capitol?” Bachmann said on Fox News Thursday.

"In three years, I have never seen Nancy Pelosi cross the street, the way that you saw in that picture. They deliberately went through that crowd perhaps to try and incite something."

Plenty of cameras were present at the time. Yet, “No one recorded any racial motivations,” Bachmann said.

“Everything we’ve heard in the last week out of the Democrats’ mouths had a racial tinge, and there hasn’t been any racial activity.”

Democrats are falsely labeling conservative activists as racists, Bachmann says.

"It is a smear technique, but now it is beyond smearing people this is actually out and out slandering people," she said.

"Again, 30,000 freedom loving people, they were picking up their own litter afterwards. These were the nicest people you would ever want to meet, happy people. I think there's been a prearranged caricature that is being written, whether it is from the White House, whether it is from the -- I don't know where coming from."

Tea party organizers have criticized those who harassed Democrats.

“We must remember that the folks committing these acts are small in number, extreme in their methods and not yet proven to be members of our movement,” Brendan Steinhauser, who helps organize local tea parties around the country for FreedomWorks, said in a statement.

“But we must be diligent in denouncing all acts of political violence and racism when they occur.”

So what do you think. Was Pelosi trying to reverse roles and turn a Tea Party into a modern day Boston Massacre? And if so who was she hoping would be the Crispus Attucks of the day?

It's NOT just about Israel - Gulf states are resigned to a nuclear Iran

How can they not be?

They can do nothing alone OR together, and don't have the cojones to do anything themselves anyway if they DID have the means, and they see their main barbarian untermencshen security guard having elected Mr. 'I'm gonna prove I am not Bush and am so sorry America has been such a sinful dangerous nation for 240 years' tired of being vigilant and being the one they turn to, ESPECIALLY when dealing with dedicated Shia racists of the old school.

The U.S. intelligence community has determined that Saudi Arabia and its allies in the Gulf Cooperation Council are quietly accepting the prospect that Iran would acquire nuclear weapons.

Officials said the Persian Gulf states and other Arab League members would learn to accommodate Teheran's domination of the region.

"This assessment has been shared with Israel, which today is the only country in the Middle East that wants to stop the Iranian nuclear program," an official said.

Note carefully, that this is NOT the first time we have heard this. Biden said it MORE than a few times as senator and VP candidate. His view has been that American interests are better served with a nuclear Iran and NO ISRAEL if that's the way it works out than a regional war which drives up oil prices and causes us other grief. You can make that argument, but it should be an open debate ..HERE. What is the medium and long range consequence of being perceived as DECLINING BY FATIGUE AND CHOICE?
Officials said the assessment has formed a major element in the strategy toward Iran by the administration of President Barack Obama. They said Israel would be the only country in the Middle East that would press the administration to pursue harsh international sanctions against Teheran in an effort to foil its nuclear weapons program.

"Most of the Arab countries are not happy with Iran but none of them wants to be seen as actively stopping its nuclear program," an official said. "Even the Saudis are not pressing Washington on this."

The administration has pledged to lobby for sanctions against Iran amid its refusal to stop uranium enrichment. But officials said the White House and State Department do not envision any decision by the United Nations regarding sanctions on Teheran until mid- to late 2010.

In his visit to Israel in March 2010, Vice President Joseph Biden cautioned Israel against expectations of an imminent sanctions regime on Iran. Officials said Biden, who discussed the issue with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, warned that UN sanctions against Teheran could fail.

"Biden's message was that the United States will do all it can, but Israel should not expect that the international community would fulfill its [Israel's] expectations," another official familiar with Biden's visit said. "There was an underlying message that Israel should learn to live with a nuclear Iran."

OK Hotshot, popquiz..if J Carter left us Iran, what will B Obama bequeath our future?

, a safe for anti american and racist dictatorship of old school socialist Oceania like jargon that neither Chavez nor his people have the slightest belief in. But this jargon can be brandished before them as a shield from common sense, arithmetic, and ACTUAL freedoms.

With Castro about to die, and large changes of SOME SORT looming there, and Iran running to cause a denouement of cataclysmic finality one way or the other with Israel out of Obama's control. We see Chavez the buyer, and Putin and the Russians getting ready to sell Chavez the means to NOT ONLY defend himself, but attack directly the USA, pinning our forces to deal with this possibility 100% of the time. I will remind the reader that the Amur class subs that Chavez wants can launch missiles which can reach strategic and population targets in the USA while DOCKED.

I get Ivan. For Ivan this is a strategically advantageous move, with little risk and a huge upside. Ivan also has a money to gain, and they will sell anything to anyone, but this sale and arrangement has to taste sweeter.
I get Chavez, he is a paranoid freak whose socialist veneer is a charade for a vanilla banana republic dictator with some oil, but whose megalomania is liable to turn out to be dangerous since the gulf he is on is Mexico and not Persian.

But do I get the USA?

Chavez should be be REMOVED.

That is what's best for my kids.
How about yours?

Now we only have to answer the question... 'what's the best way?'

Surely that means we start with a govt that does not ADMIRE HIM?

Mark Lloyd still serves at the pleasure of the President of the USA.

CAIR must register as Foreign Agent of Saudi Arabia and Iran

From Watcher:

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, known as CAIR, claims to be Americas largest Islamic civil liberties group. But thats a myth. Here are the facts:

FACT: CAIR is an unindicted coconspirator in the largest terrorism finance trial in Americas history.

FACT: CAIR is being sued by Muslim, African-American and Hispanic families for defrauding them instead of giving them legal help.

FACT: Four CAIR leaders have been convicted of felonies including terrorism.

FACT: Only one percent, ONE PERCENT, of CAIR's latest reported revenues came from Muslim American members.

Meanwhile foreign donors- Saudi Arabia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait- have given CAIR over six million dollars in cash and loans, and over fifty million dollars in pledges.

One percent from members: millions from Saudi Arabia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.

Shouldn't there be a law to let the American public know the truth about CAIR and their foreign donors? Of course, and there is one CAIR just doesn't follow it.

The Foreign Agents Registration Act, enacted just before World War Two, still requires foreign agents spreading propaganda to register, so Americans can know what they are up to. Back then the problem was foreign agents working for the Nazis. Today the problem is foreign agents like CAIR, working for Saudi Arabia, Iran and others.

Americans have a right to know that CAIR received over six million dollars in cash and loans and over fifty million dollars in pledges. But CAIR never reported the money.

Americans have a right to know that CAIR conducted over thirty meetings with foreign dignitaries from the same countries that gave them millions of dollars. But CAIR never reported the meetings.

Americans have a right to know that CAIR organized over fifty political and propaganda operations for the goals of their foreign donors. But CAIR never reported the operations.

The Center for Security Policy believes that CAIR should follow the law, and that all Americans have a right to know about CAIR's activities as an agent for their foreign donors in Saudi Arabia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.

That's why we launched the CAIRObservatory.org website - to connect the dots about CAIR's operations as a foreign agent in America. The money, the meetings, the political activities, the propaganda: the facts, documented, reported, unmasked.

Join us at CAIRObservatory.org. Help connect the dots because Americans have a right to know.

When the Germans give up on AGW you really do know it's all over…

From the Telegraph:

No people on earth are more righteously Green than the Germans. They built the foundations and set the tone of the modern Green movement in, ahem, the 1930s. They invented the phrase Atomkraft Nein Danke. They were the first country to allow nasty, dangerous Sixties eco-radicals to reinvent themselves as respectable politicians. They were the first place to buy, wholesale, into the solar power con, which is why so many of their rooves – especially on churches – shimmer and glow like reflective-coated crusties at a mid-Nineties rave, while the German taxpayer is ruing the day his government ever chose to subsidise (Achtung Herr Cameron!) this fantastically pointless scheme… (Hat tip: Robert Groezinger, et al)

So when the Germans say “Auf Wiedersehn AGW” it really is time for the rest of the world to sit up and take notice. And that’s exactly what they just have said. See for yourself in this tear-inducing glorious feature in one of their leading newspapers.

Der Spiegel has done a number on AGW - one of the best and most comprehensive I’ve read in any newspaper anywhere – and it could hardly be more damning.

Truly, the experience is akin to having honey (really good stuff, heather probably) licked off one’s body by nubile blonde Nibelungen.

On the recently vindicated Prof Phil Jones:

“I am 100 percent confident that the climate has warmed,” Jones says imploringly. “I did not manipulate or fabricate any data.”

His problem is that the public doesn’t trust him anymore. Since unknown hackers secretly copied 1,073 private emails between members of his research team and published them on the Internet, his credibility has been destroyed — and so has that of an entire profession that had based much of its work on his research until now.

On the politicisation of science:

Reinhard Hüttl, head of the German Research Center for Geosciences in Potsdam near Berlin and the president of the German Academy of Science and Engineering, believes that basic values are now under threat. “Scientists should never be as wedded to their theories that they are no longer capable of refuting them in the light of new findings,” he says. Scientific research, Hüttl adds, is all about results, not beliefs. Unfortunately, he says, there are more and more scientists who want to be politicians.

On the Urban Heat Island Effect (complete with nice dig at the aforementioned “exonerated, give him his job back” Prof Jones)

Critics reproach Jones for not taking one factor, in particular, sufficiently into account: the growth of urban areas. Stations that used to be rural are now in cities. And because it is always warmer in cities than outside, the temperatures measured at these stations are bound to rise.

Environmental economist Ross McKitrick, one of McIntyre’s associates, examined all rapidly growing countries, in which this urban heat effect was to be expected, and found a correlation between economic growth and temperature rise. He submitted his study in time for the last IPCC report.

Jones did everything he could to suppress the publication, which was critical of him. It proved advantageous to him that he had been one of the two main authors of the temperature chapter. In one of the hacked emails, he openly admitted that he wanted to keep this interfering publication out of the IPCC report at all costs, “even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is!”

On the myth of monster storms:

The all-clear signal on the hurricane front is another setback for the IPCC. In keeping with lead author Kevin Trenberth’s predictions, the IPCC report warned that there would be more hurricanes in a greenhouse climate. One of the graphs in the IPCC report is particularly mysterious. Without specifying a source, the graph suggestively illustrates how damage caused by extreme weather increases with rising average temperatures.

When hurricane expert Roger Pielke, Jr. of the University of Colorado at Boulder saw the graph, he was appalled. “I would like to discover this sort of relationship myself,” he says, “but it simply isn’t supported by the facts at the moment.”

Pielke tried to find out where the graph had come from. He traced it to the chief scientist at a London firm that performs risk calculations for major insurance companies. The insurance scientist claims that the graph was never meant for publication. How the phantom graph found its way into the IPCC report is still a mystery.

Der Spiegel would never have got away with this article four years ago. But then, in 2006, according to a poll, 62 per cent of Germans surveyed answered “Yes” to the question “Are you personally afraid of climate change.” In 2010 that figure has dropped to 42 per cent, which for those of you who haven’t done the math means that the majority of Germans are now not personally afraid of climate change.

Way to go, Germans! Gott Mitt Uns and all that. Stimmt. Genau.

"Jews need another Holocaust"

There are some guys who just cry out for a game of football. Everything about them says, "I want to play and I want to win." To be honest, I like it. I want to play, too. I want to get the guy on the field and get into it full-blast. The guy, the Palestinian in the white tee-shirt and blue jeans in the video below. He can be on the other side, I don't care. I really want to play. I love full-contact sports, and this guy is no metro-sexual. Man-to-man, I want to meet him and try it out.

FBI warns extremist letters may encourage violence

WASHINGTON – An intelligence note obtained by The Associated Press is warning police officials that an anti-government group's call to remove dozens of sitting governors may encourage others to act out violently.

A group that calls itself the Guardians of the free Republics has a plan to "restore America" by peacefully dismantling parts of the government, according to its Web site.

As of March 31, more than 30 governors have received letters demanding they leave office within three days or they will be removed, according to an internal intelligence note by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security.

Investigators do not see threats of violence in the group's message, but fear the broad call for removing top state officials could inspire others to act out violently.

These letters clearly have, as their intent, the desire to cause exteme animosity towards the government.

The expression of extreme antipathy towards the government is protected speech.

It's not like these people are discussing replacing our current form of government. Instead, they are simply talking about replacing our current government, the people we elected to serve us.

It's not like these people are talking about replacing the Constitution with Sharia law.

Now, that would be something for our government to concern themselves with. Because that is SEDITION.

But, our government doesn't care about the Islamic Seditionists.

And so, we must live with them.

Until, one day, when we replace our government with a government who does care about our Constitution, and then all who advocate Sedition, in the name of Islam, will be locked up in prison, and the key will be thrown away.

Prof. Richard Dawkins, formerly a militant atheist, is now getting worried that the collapse of Christianity in Britain is destroying a 'bulwark against something worse'.

From the Times of London (with thanks to Trencherbone):
"In Britain religious belief is in freefall, according to the most recent figures from the National Centre for Social Research. Over the past two decades the number of people describing themselves as atheist or agnostic has risen to 37 per cent, while those identifying themselves as Christian has dropped from 66 per cent to 50 per cent.

Even among the world’s most famous atheists, the crisis of faith among Christians in Europe has been met with concern.

Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion, said: “There are no Christians, as far as I know, blowing up buildings. I am not aware of any Christian suicide bombers. I am not aware of any major Christian denomination that believes the penalty for apostasy is death. I have mixed feelings about the decline of Christianity, in so far as Christianity might be a bulwark against something worse.”

Peter Tatchell, the human rights campaigner and one of the organisers of the Protest the Pope demonstration at Westminster Cathedral last weekend, came to the defence of a Christian street preacher who was fined £1,000 in Glasgow for saying that homosexuality was a sin.

Shawn Holes, a Baptist from America, was charged with “uttering homophobic remarks” in a breach of the peace that prosecutors said was “aggravated by religious prejudice”.

Mr Tatchell said: “The price of freedom of speech is that we sometimes have to put up with opinions that are objectionable and offensive. Just as people should have the right to criticise religion, people of faith should have the right to criticise homosexuality.”

It is a sign of how bad things have become that the faith’s enemies seem now to be defending it. "

The talk and the walk

Health Insurance Reform For Children & Families
Yesterday I heard the One utter some words along the lines of .. 'if the repubs want to campaign on repealing help for sick kids and give control to the piratical, blood dripping from their teeth, insurance companies, I'll take that'

But his new law COMPELS people (32 MILLION PEOPLE) minding their own business to buy this product from these beasts in the insurance industry who 'control', according to Mr. Obama. If there is additional risk from sick kids, then premiums SOMEWHERE will go up, and some businesses won't hire, will lay off, cancel raises and otherwise make some way to pay for the law. Who is the bigger winner?

Insurance companies?

Sick kids?

I know the insurance industry is happy with so many new customers locked into tiny limited markets in states. I know the Rx companies are happy with so many new Rx's about to be written, and paid for by a third party ..NOT THE CONSUMER who might notice. I know sick kids who would have turned up at the emergency room ANY WAY MIGHT be winners with insurance paid for by others (and we can argue over if and how they should be).

The only way to help more people GET the health insurance they need without further indebting the USA is to LOWER THE COSTS. The only way to lower the costs without price controls is nationwide, WIDE OPEN competition for customers.

People who are sick and have known risks NOMATTER their age are going to have to go into a high risk pool, JUST AS YOUNG DRIVERS DO in many states.

I am such a person. My wife is such a person. But it STILL remains the best answer.

If we act in any other way than to LOWER COSTS, and to be SEEN TO BE DOING SO we contribute to the end of the USA as interest on the debt becomes the largest single budget item we pay for.

That is the republican answer.

Just like Verizon Wireless, T Mobile, AT&T, Sprint.

Lower costs from the democrats with more govt and the IRS enforcement is a FARCICAL IDEA BELIEVED BY FOOLS AND THOSE WHO RUN TO BELIEVE IN SANTA AND A FREE LUNCH while govt piles on layer after layer of complexitity until everything you do in the health industry will either be compulsory or illegal.

We'll get MORE people covered by choice, and business will grow as overhead declines with nationwide competition.

And we'll have LOWER GOVT INVOLVEMENT IN OUR LIVES .. btw what happens NOW to dad and mom if they cannot afford to include the son or daughter who is now 23.. or if they refuse? Will Jr turn them in?

The republicans need to appeal to WHAT IS BELIEVABLE IN THE REALM OF COMMON SENSE. The democrats CANNOT.

Otherwise the asteroid which is hurtling towards the USA which President Obama CANNOT SEE will hits long after he is retired to a private life of speaking engagements @ $150k per nite, plus expenses. And no amount of rancor by a fully enraged 350 million freshly boiled frogs will mean anything.

A Reminder This Administration Needs

In light of Congressman Phil Hare's statement about not caring about the Constitution (see a few posts down here at IBA).

The American people as a whole need the reminder too!

From Founder's Quote Daily:
"Constitutions of civil government are not to be framed upon a calculation of existing exigencies, but upon a combination of these with the probable exigencies of ages, according to the natural and tried course of human affairs. Nothing, therefore, can be more fallacious than to infer the extent of any power, proper to be lodged in the national government, from an estimate of its immediate necessities."

Congressman Phil Hare: "I Don't Care About The Constitution"

"When a little boy ..."

"When you heart is thumping and thumping and thumping and thumping ..."

"I don't care about the Constitution on this."

This is what happens when our leaders cease thinking reasonably, and instead, think emotionally.

Congressman Hare is more concerned about little boys than he is concerned with the rule of law. Something is clearly wrong with the Congressman.

First Light by Brian Eno

This music is beautiful in the foreground, but the genius of it is the background. Make the reverberation and echo your primary listening experience, and you will understand what I mean.

Another Victim of the Economy

Damn economy. This poor child can't even afford a pair of decent jeans.

It always seems to be the young who suffer the most...

... and I don't suppose you noticed that the poor little thing has no shoes.

More proof that John Francois Kerry is a complete jerk

From the Astute Bloggers:

Assad on Sunday called on Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to ditch negotiations with Israel in favor of “armed resistance.”

Kerry, nonetheless, said in Damascus following a three-hour meeting with Assad that Syria was committed to engaging in peace-making and was essential to the Mideast process.

The Chill Air by Brian Eno

This is my favorite piece by Eno. Perfectly named. This music carries all the sadness and pristine coldness of an early Autumn evening.

Once again, this music is as much about the background, which in this case features backwards reverberation, and chords which spring out of collages of notes and sound.

Wind In Lonely Places by Brian Eno

A darker piece by Eno. Once again, the foreground may be intriguing, but the music is more about the background. If you don't hear what is going on in the background, then you will not recognize the genius of this piece.

Lantern Marsh by Brian Eno

This is a more difficult piece by Eno. The atmosphere is intense, humid and paranoic.

This is not so much a piece of music as sound as the expression of pure emotion/sensual experience.

They're Fucked

Russia's Medvedev promises 'crueler' measures

MAKHACHKALA, Russia — President Dmitry Medvedev made a surprise visit Thursday to the violence-wracked southern province of Dagestan, telling police and security forces to use tougher, "more cruel" measures to fight the "scum" responsible for terrorist attacks.

Russia's security chief said some terror suspects had been detained.

In his dress — a black T-shirt under a black suit coat — and rough language, Medvedev was following the style of Russia's powerful prime minister, Vladimir Putin. . .

. . .Medvedev said much more needed to be done to stop the attacks.

"The measures to fight terrorism should be expanded, they should be more effective, more harsh, more cruel, if you please," he told local officials in a televised meeting.

Funerals were held Thursday at four Moscow cemeteries for some of the subway victims. At the Khovanskoye cemetery, the family, friends and colleagues of Anna Permyakova, a 34-year-old nurse, could not hold back tears as they placed flowers on her open casket. Permyakova had worked in a rehabilitation center and many of her former patients attended the funeral in wheelchairs.

Federal Security Service director Alexander Bortnikov, who joined Medvedev in Dagestan, said the organizers of the Moscow attacks have been identified as "bandits" from the Northern Caucasus and some had been detained. He did not give specific numbers.

"We know the personalities of organizers," Bortnikov said during the meeting. "We have detained a number of people, conducted interrogations, got evidence."

In recent months, police and security forces have killed at least two high-profile Islamic militants, but they have been unable to capture the veteran Chechen militant Doku Umarov, who has claimed responsibility for the Moscow subway attacks.

"We have torn off the heads of the most notorious bandits, but clearly this was not enough. In any case, we will find them all and punish them," Medvedev said.

Umarov, who leads Islamic militants in Chechnya and throughout the North Caucasus, said the Moscow subway bombings were revenge for the killing of civilians by Russian security forces.

"Any politician, any journalist who accuses me of terrorism only makes me laugh, causes me to grin. I have not heard anyone accuse Putin of terrorism for the murder of civilians who were killed on his orders," Umarov said in a video posted Wednesday on kavkazcenter.com, a Web site used by rebels.

Umarov seemed to be taunting Putin, who had just vowed to "drag out of the sewer" the terrorists who plotted the subway attacks.

Umarov, 45, fought Russian forces in both separatist wars in Chechnya of the past 15 years. Shortly after taking over the leadership of the rebel movement in 2006, he announced a change of tactics. Instead of struggling for Chechen independence, the militants would seek to create an Islamic state across the North Caucasus. Umarov declared himself the emir, or military leader, of a Caucasus Emirate.

It is unclear, however, how much power he wields over the militants operating throughout the region.

The terrorist attacks in the North Caucasus are believed to be motivated not only by radical Islam but in some cases by a desire for personal revenge against police and security forces, who have been accused of killings, kidnappings and torture. The heavy-handed tactics have served to swell the ranks of Islamic militants.

The Future Is Coming At Us Like A Train

There's no stopping it.

From Al Fin:

... significant breakthroughs are waiting to be made in several different areas. Just because our politicians are total idiots and psychopaths is no reason to be totally pessimistic. The new tools of the future will be extremely powerful. Those who can take them and use them constructively and imaginatively should be able to do okay.

The first junctionless transister. Shrinking electronics devices even smaller.

First magnetic monopole? The potential for opening entire new fields of materials and technology.

Nano-desalination breakthrough. If this device can be scaled up, it will change the future.

Diamond nanowire photo-quantum device. Early glimpses of the potential of quantum diamond electronics and photonics.

Nano-superconducting wires for super-efficient nanoelectronics. More advanced quantum effects on the way.

Electronically switchable adhesion device for walking on walls and ceilings. May be particularly useful in weightless environments and for robots.

Automated rainwater catchment and irrigation system. Making desert homesteading more workable.

High altitude blimps that create their own hydrogen from water using photovoltaics -- stay perpetually high! Living and working between Earth and space. Good training for long-term astronauts -- also great launching platforms for ultra high skydives!

Woven high pressure air tank "flatpacks" for firefighters and other interesting uses. These "deflatable" pressure tanks can be stored flat when empty, then inflated to high pressures in designed shapes -- to avoid getting "hung up" in tight spaces. Besides uses in firefighting, should be useful for underwater uses, possibly outer space. Also possibly useful for gaseous fuels.

"Silver bullet" antiviral that works against multiple deadly viruses. May be useful in bio-warfare situations as well as emerging epidemics of lipid enveloped viruses.

Fascinating and semi-fascinating questions about brain and mind.

(apologies, Pastorius. I tried but I couldn't stop it. It just screamed for this video. . .)

Counter Jihad Legislative Victory: Belgium To Become First European Nation to Ban Burka

Belgium is banning the burka. Under the proposals, women could face a week in prison or a fine for wearing a veil in public. The question is, will Muslimas choose prison over familial abuse, beatings and scorn? I'd take prison in a heartbeat. How 'bout you?

Inevitably, Muslims will immigrate elsewhere. They look for stupid, dhimmi, docile societies to colonize and dominate.

It is also a strong statement that they simultaneously go after violent protesters who cover their faces, rather than just niqab- and burka-clad women.

American-Born Muslim Fails To Find Work As An Imam

Early on, this Washington Post article printed this important fact - one not often mentioned these days by the mainstream media:
Although the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and the coming of age of a generation of American-born Muslims have triggered a call for spiritual leaders rooted in U.S. culture, most American mosques are led by imams from overseas who aren't fluent in English.
Of course, the matter of real concern isn't that overseas imams don't speak English well. Rather, the real concern is that mosques in the United States, and indeed throughout the West, import Wahhabist imams.

Quoting again from the above-cited article about the plight of Adeel Zeb, volunteer chaplain at D.C.'s American University and one who has, thus far, been able to obtain a position as the imam of a mosque here in America:
Zeb's job hunt illustrates the challenges of transforming what it means to be an imam in the United States.

He was born in New Jersey and grew up outside Dallas as the ambitious eldest child of Pakistani immigrants who were expecting him, like the rest of the men in his family, to become a doctor or lawyer. And that was his direction, until he went to Mecca as a teen. Standing before the cube-shaped Kaaba, a building that Islamic tradition teaches was built by Abraham, Zeb says he felt the awe and power of history and the proximity to the divine.

He returned home transformed. He began worshipping at a mosque in Waco and giving sermons. After graduating from Baylor University with a management degree, he got a job overseeing a cardiology clinic, but he longed to spend more time studying Islam.

He received a bachelor's degree in Islamic studies after studying on weekends and became a spokesman for the local branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. He did Muslim outreach for two Texas members of Congress and helped navigate civil rights discussions with the departments of Justice and Homeland Security.

His two-page résumé is filled with other faith-related experience: youth mentor at mosques, organizer of Islamic charity fundraisers and banquets, working with AU's Muslim students.

Yet he has been stymied in his efforts to land a paid position at a mosque.

Zeb's future remains unsettled. Although he's pursuing interviews with mosques across the country, he's exploring alternatives, including opening a center to train Muslim chaplains for universities. He's open to politics. Or being a professor and spiritual motivational speaker.

For now, he says, those might be more viable options than becoming a full-time, home-grown imam.
In my view, we'd go a long way toward curbing "radical" Islam here in the West if immigration officials banned the importation of Wahhabist imams.

Doing so would be - ahem - Islamophobic. Can't have that! **snerk**

multiple meanings. 1) one who carries large bags of packaged tea for shipment. 2) a man that squats on top of a womens face and lowers his genitals into her mouth during sex, known as "teabagging"

Great Moments In The History Of The Struggle For Equality

Video: SPLC Spokesman Claims Ronald Reagan's Anti-Big Government Views Led to 1995 Oklahoma City Bombing

"Well, I think one could make the argument that that really began with Ronald Reagan and the description of the federal government as a kind of enemy. And it was very much ginned up through the decades by talk radio, and so on. And we saw the first iteration, it seems to me, of real focused rage against the federal government in the 1990s, when the militia movement took that standard and brought it to new heights, or really depths. You know, and that, as we all know, culminated in the murder of 168 people in Oklahoma City back in 1995."

Great Moments In The History of The Revolution

“Ernesto “Che” Guevara was a total fucking racist:

“We’re going to do for blacks exactly what blacks did for the revolution. By which I mean: nothing.” -Che Guevera

“The Negro is indolent and lazy, and spends his money on frivolities, whereas the European is forward-looking, organized and intelligent.”- Che Guevara

“Mexicans are a band of illiterate Indians.” – Che Guevara

“Given the prevailing lack of discipline, it would have been impossible to use Congolese machine-gunners to defend the base from air attack: they did not know how to handle their weapons and did not want to learn,” – Che Guevara

Che Guevara also railed against “long hairs,” “lazy youths,” and homosexuals.”

Fuck the LA Times. Long live Toyota.

From Breitbart:

Toyota on Thursday reported a 35.3 percent jump in US sales in March, rebounding from a series of mass safety recalls which have undermined the embattled Japanese automaker's reputation.

"Toyota's strong sales performance in March reflects our customers' continued confidence in the safety and reliability of our vehicles and their trust in the brand," said Don Esmond, senior vice president of automotive operations for Toyota Motor Sales USA.

"We are standing by our cars, and we're grateful that our customers are standing by Toyota."

Found this in a Smoke-Filled Backroom I plan to stop by a lot more. It might not be as good as the Eat a Peach version but it's The Allman Brothers during one of their annual outings at The Beacon In New York

The Allman Brothers Band
Ain't Wastin' Time No More

Last Sunday mornin’ … the sunshine felt like rain
Week before … they all … seemed the same
With the help of God and true friends … I come to realize
I still had two strong legs … and even wings to fly. . .

Well by and by way after … many years have gone
And all the terrorists die off … leavin' us alone
We'll raise our children in the peaceful way we can
It's up to you and me brother
To try and try again

Meanwhile I … ain't-a wastin' time no more
'Cause time goes by like … pouring rain … and much faster things

Also from Eat a Peach

Have a great Thursday, Infidels
