U.S. Islamic Group Asks Army to Deny Soldier’s Request for Conscientious Objector Status, Says He’s a “Traitor” and a “Coward”

From Weasel Zippers:

(Fox News)- An American Muslim organization is asking the U.S. Army to deny a Muslim soldier’s request for conscientious objector status, accusing him of treason and urging the military to punish him to the full extent of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Pfc. Naser Abdo, a 20-year-old infantryman who joined the Army one year ago, filed for conscientious objector status in June, saying his faith and the military don’t mix. ”As a Muslim, we stand against injustice, we stand against discrimination, and I feel it’s my duty as an individual to do this,” Abdo told FoxNews.com.
The Army has deferred his scheduled deployment to Afghanistan.

But the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD) says Abdo’s claim is “patently false.”

“Muslims serve with distinction throughout the United States Military and AIFD sees Abdo’s traitorous public assertions as a slap in the face to all American Muslims especially those Muslims who fight in our armed forces for the liberty and freedom guaranteed by the American Constitution,” the group said in a statement it issued on Friday.

Said Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, president of AIFD: “Abdo’s actions are an affront to every American Muslim who has proudly donned a U.S. military uniform. His assertions are not built on Islamic teachings but on a feeble adherence to the global political ideology of Islamism that threatens our security and radicalizes our Muslim youth.”

Pastorius,

I'll bet CAIR is not going to be happy with these guys.

Jasser better have excellent security. As much as I appreciate such sentiment from him, I can't help but wonder what parts of the koran, sira and hadith he cherishes? Should he still consider Mohammad his prophet and the best example for all mankind - little good it does for the future of non-believers.

Anonymous,

It will do at least some good, if he rejects the worst parts Isam's of holy text. If every Muslim cherry picked only the good, or not so bad parts, websites like this one wouldn't even exist.

Dr. Jasser isn't in the good graces of CAIR anyway.

Damien - if they cherry picked only the good parts of holy text, there isn't enough left to call it a religion. Muhammad utterly failed to create his 'umma' while professing only the 'good parts' during the initial twelve-thirteen years of his prophetic delusions. Having been shunned, mocked and prevented from defiling the many varied worshippers with his blasphemies he tucked tail and left Mecca with only eleven men and women having utterly failed to convince any one who could manage for themselves. Extended family and fellow rejects of Mecca eventually followed suit and when their numbers reached about 100, Mohammad began his murderous raids on Meccan caravans in 623 from which the resulting booty purchased these thieves allegiance. After a series of massacres, assassinations and continuous raids, it took but absolute terror and a basic instinct for survival to offer ones subjugation to this madman profiteer.

No Damien, without the violent and subjugating verses, Islam simply cannot and will not survive. That is why they characterise the koran as the direct, divine, unchallengable sacred word of allah. Dualism within the word of allah conveniently provides the glue. (continued)

*****QUOTE *****”. . .dualism is the foundation and key to understanding Islam. Everything about Islam comes in twos starting with its foundational declaration: (1) there is no god but Allah and (2) Mohammed is His prophet. Therefore, Islam is Allah (Koran) and the Sunna (words and deeds of Mohammed found in the Sira and Hadith). . . .Our first clue about the dualism is in the Koran, which is actually two books, the Koran of Mecca (early) and the Koran of Medina (later). The insight into the logic of the Koran comes from the large numbers of contradictions in it. On the surface, Islam resolves these contradictions by resorting to “abrogation”. This means that the verse written later supersedes the earlier verse. But in fact, since the Koran is considered by Muslims to be the perfect word of Allah, both verses are sacred and true. The later verse is “better,” but the earlier verse cannot be wrong since Allah is perfect. This is the foundation of dualism. Both verses are “right.” Both sides of the contradiction are true in dualistic logic. The circumstances govern which verse is used.”******END QUOTE

Anonymous,

So you think that Dr. Jasser is a Jihadist? I don't like Islam either, but I find it very hard to believe a Muslim condemning an American Muslim, who joined the American Military of not doing his duty because he won't fight for his country agianst his fellow Muslims when they've declared war on us, is a form of Taqiyya.
