Obama still believes "overreaction" took place during the arrest even though the cops at the scene including a black police officer support Sgt. James Crowley.
Again, nice work inflaming the controversy, Mr. President.
You keep finding a way to "stupidly" keep stepping in it.
President Obama told reporters that he called the Cambridge cops today but that he did not apologize.

President Obama stopped short of an apology to Sgt. James Crowley on Friday for saying he "acted stupidly" for arresting black Harvard scholar Henry Lewis Gates Jr., but said he should have chosen his words more carefully.Does Barack Obama really believe that Sgt. Crowley would want to sit down and have a beer with the racist professor who called him a "rogue policeman" and insulted his mother?
At an impromptu appearance at the daily White House briefing, Obama said he spoke with Crowley over the phone, and said he wanted to share a beer with Crowley and Gates at the White House.
"Because this has been ratcheting up and I helped contribute to ratcheting it up, I want to make clear that in my choice of words I unfortunately gave an impression that I was maligning the Cambridge Police Department or Sgt. Crowley specifically and I could have calibrated those words differently.
"My sense is you've got two good people in a circumstance in which neither of them were able to resolve it the way the wanted to resolve it," President Obama said.
Earlier in the day Friday, the Cambridge and area police unions voiced their support for Sgt. James Crowley and called for an apology from President Obama for his statement.

He bought them off! The f****** b****** bought them off with a non-apology and a bad joke about sitting down with a beer. I've just been listening to Michele McPhee on WTTK in Boston. She was at the press conference this afternoon, she has first-hand knowledge of the phone call, and she has been told that Crowley was all impressed that the POTUS would take time out of his "busy schedule" to call him and the cops just want to get back to doing their jobs.

This is the same monster who declared he does not intend to seek victory in against al Qaeda because the word makes him uncomfortable, to the horror of military personnel and their families all over the country.
Henry Louis Gates is not a "good person". Barry Soetoro Hussein Obama is not a "good person". Sgt. James Crowley should refuse to go anywhere near either of them until he and the rest of the police get a full, specific apology from Obama, Gates, our idiot Governor Patrick and that damn fool Denise Simmons, who is Mayor of Cambridge, in public, in prime time.
Instead they are getting bought off because Obam-a-hole cranks up his phony charm to dazzle the cop he nearly ruined and is going to set up some cutesy chat at the White House as soon as he finishes ripping his "good friend" "Skip" Gates a new one for getting him in this mess.

Crowley should not go anywhere near the White House. fact is, Obama did not say he was wrong, only said he used the wrong words. Gates will not give in, why should he? Crowley would be walking into God knows what. Obama & Gates could say anything after the meeting & Crowley wouldn't be able to defend himself. Hopefully Crowley's fellow officers who are defending him are trying to convince him to stay away.
