My Personal Testimony

I am not a Jew, but prior to meeting my wife, all three of my significant others (long-time girlfriends, not marriages) were with Jewish chicks. I wish I had pics of the women I spent my time with before I met my wife (who is not Jewish). You guys would love it.

First one was named ---. Her mom was not Jewish but her father was. He owned a retail outlet for fat ladies. He fucking hated me. He was a very intense man. (His family had lost members in the Holocaust.) With age, I must admit, I don't blame him for hating me. After all, I was a skinny-assed, long-haired rock n' roll singer.

My second major girlfriend was named ---. She was a beauty (voted Best Body in High School) with hair almost like wires. In other words, her hair was almost like a black person's hair, but it was straight. (Her grandparents had fled the Holocaust. They lost many members of their family.) Her uncle was a famous comedian. She's was nuts, but in that particular way that drives a young man to his knees. She was a femme fatale.

She was a learning experience for me when I was a young man.

I never made the same mistake again.

My third major girlfriend was named ---. She was an actress. (You can see the thread here; actress and comedian? Yes, these are parts of my personality.) Her father was a German Jew whose family escaped the Holocaust by fleeing to Mexico when he was a child. He thought of himself as Mexican, or told people so anyway.

He liked me, but found me to be a pain in the ass.

He was a man full of subtle wisdom. He would say things that sounded like they were off the cuff, but I believe they meant a lot to him. (You had to hear the inflection in his voice to understand.) And, it will sound funny, but here are some of the things he told me:

(I asked him how he made the salsa) "It isn't what you do to the salsa, it's what the salsa does to you."

I really loved that one. I think about it all the time.

(He was a top engineer in the weapons and aerospace industry during the Reagan era) "When there is a problem, it is almost always in the conductors."

Think about that one for awhile. You can apply it to almost all problems in life.

And, here was the most important thing he ever said to me. He went to the Soviet Union as part of the Glasnost partnership with Gorbachev. He came back and I asked him what it was like. He told me,

"The Soviet engineers came up to me and told me America was less free than the Soviet Union. I asked them what they meant, and they said, 'Well, you guys have to have a government license to travel from town to town, and you have absolutely no opportunity to change social classes through education or hard work."

I couldn't believe my ears. They were being taught that there was no hope anywhere in the world, other than the disgusting, ugly dictatorship under which they lived. I had heard about Pravda, and I had read Kafka and Kundera, but I didn't believe what I had heard and read. I thought it was literary and exaggerated.

When he told me what it was really like, I realized that the Soviet people were truly being lied to, and I realized that what Ronald Reagan had been saying (which the Liberals had been denying) was true.

My comment to my girlfriend's father was, "My God, that's a psychological Holocaust."

To my mind, to live without hope is almost the equivalent of death. I think most of you would agree.

My girlfriend's father liked me more and more after that, but his daughter like me less and less.

Anyway, point is, that was the beginning of my long descent from the liberal misty mountains into the valley of reality. It took a very long time. And, most of the stops (learning experiences) along the way were inititated by Jewish people whom I got to know.

I remember, very clearly, and with not a bit of sadness and embarrassment, when an employer of mine (shortly after the Oslo Agreement) called me into his office and told me that one day, in our lifetimes, we would see another attempt at a Holocaust of the Jewish people. I laughed at him outright. I told him we were past all that. He assured me that we were not.

Now, we stand on the brink of that reality as the Iranian President threatens to wipe Israel off the map. That's about 5.5 million Jews for those keeping score at home.

(It is very hard to deny reality when you have known multiple families who have been halved by the Holocaust, but somehow I maintained that ability even after all these warnings signs.)

I've also met, and personally worked with Vietnamese people who fought alongside American soldiers during the Viet Nam War. They told me the true story of our abandonment of them in 73. Once again, it was the world turned upside down for me. The American media had told me a completely different story.

One man's story - a man who had been involved in the war alongside our troops (his name was ---) on a daily basis - really shook me. He was a very giving and together man. He was a Buddhist, and he was always involved in various projects to help out in the community.

When he told me his story, he got that "thousand-mile stare" about his eyes, and his voice shook and he looked like he was going to cry. It was very tough to watch.

That was 1999/2000. That was pretty much the last straw for me as a Chomsky reader.

When Sept. 11th hit, my British relatives called me to "say how sorry" they were, and then proceeded to tell me why America deserved it.

That was the end.

I couldn't help but hate all such people, no matter how hard I tried. Slowly, but surely, I learned the opposite lesson of Natan Sharansky (who is a very sadly mistaken man, in my opinion, and it is too bad George Bush listens to him) that some people love the smell of their own prison, and will not let go no matter what you do for them.

The reality, sadly, is they have to find their own way out of it, and some are up to the task, and some are not. And, unfortunately, some of it has to do with how culture has effected national character. In other words, there are whole nations filled with people who hate the very idea of freedom. They like being told what to do and when to do it, and we aren't going to win them over by being nice.

We are only going to win them over by being very, very mean, to the point of leaving them in despair.

That's how we did it in Germany, and Japan, and the American South.

And, that's how it will be again whether we like it or not.

Commenter Watcher71 wrote the following:

What I find really frustrating is that the IDF won't let me go (a non Jew) go and fight for them. They Should have a Mossad screened foreign legion....cause my tail would be off there so fast...!

Watcher71 is a half-Jamaican/half-white Brit who loves Israel, and hates the Jihadis. He is not the first non-Jew to have said this to me, and it isn't like the thought hasn't crossed my mind a few times, and I am a non-Jew in my forties with a family. (In other words, I'm not the kind of guy you would expect to think of such "adventure").

I think Israel has a hidden army far larger than they can imagine. I believe there are men and women all over the globe who are just itching to take up arms in this inevitable war.

Am I right, or what?

Lawyers sap our will to combat terrorism.

We [UK] lack the toughness of our European neighbours

by Michael Burleigh

Many jihadis seek to create a global caliphate, ruled by Sharia. At best, Christians, Hindus, and Jews would live in a state of submission tantamount to second-class citizenship. If they got above themselves, they would suffer the persecutions Islamists visited on the Coptic Christians of Egypt. The rule of Islamists has resulted in murderous chaos – 150,000 died in Algeria during the 1990s when madmen decided that most of the Muslim population were apostates. The Taleban anti-state so ruined Afghanistan that Americans joked that they had to bomb it forwards to the Stone Age. [ LOL! ] There are significant numbers of people living in Britain who wish to visit such chaos on us.

This is the backdrop to the debate about anti-terrorism legislation. As usual lawyers talk to lawyers, including those overrepresented in our political class. Overlooking that our greatest right is to life, civil libertarians are exercised about proposals to extend detention of suspects from 28 to 56 days.

Shami Chakrabarti, the barrister whom the BBC assiduously promotes as the voice of a presumed liberal consensus, will widen her Diana-like eyes in outrage, while Amnesty will mutter darkly about internment. Then we’ll hear from Gareth Peirce – the Provos’ and now the jihadis’ lawyer of choice – or her business rival Mudassur Arani, whose website advises Muslims how to deny cooperation with M15. Ms Arani was recently exercised by an attack on Dhiren Barot, the British al-Qaeda terrorist, by a fellow prison inmate. She wants jihadi prisoners all kept together, doubtless so that within ten minutes of such consolidation, she would be whining about a British Guantanamo, from where, say, Clive Stafford Smith, would soon relay lurid terrorist tales of torture to Channel 4 News.

Since activist lawyers routinely usurp a moral high ground vacated by a lazy liberalism, it seems almost vulgar to point out that at least one terrorist group – the Baader-Meinhof gang – was co-founded by a lawyer, Horst Mahler (nowadays a neo-Nazi), while Lynne Stewart, defence counsel to blind Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman, is serving a prison sentence for helping him to communicate from his prison cell with his Egyptian followers. [Fucking stupid cow!]

Now that Gordon Brown has rejected the proposal of Lord Carlile of Berriew, QC, to give judges the powers to extend periods of detention, on the understandable ground that senior judges sabotaged the system of control orders after freeing the Belmarsh detainees, perhaps his lordship could get the Law Society to focus on its own nest?

Some of Mr Brown’s proposals announced this week in the Commons make sense, although they are hopelessly overdue. The Tories have long argued for a dedicated border police, staffed with officers on serious salaries. Instead of which we are going to get an agency mainly staffed by low-grade Customs officers. Electronic passenger screening is being introduced after the US warned us that it may introduce visa requirements for Anglo-Pakistanis on the ground that you don’t stop Jaguars when a Toyota has been stolen. Belated steps are being taken to secure strategic sites, sports grounds and shopping malls, as well as, tardily again, to hook up our immigration computers with Europol’s databank of seven million lost or stolen passports.

Another proposal briefly floated was to turn a few circuit judges into European-style investigative magistrates. One can’t quite imagine these claret-faced old buffers in the role of Jean-Louis Brugière, a French judge whose pursuit of Islamists led to his being dubbed “the sheriff”, and not only because of the Magnum revolver he had under his jacket.

One of the puzzles of our time is why Britain scrupulously adheres to the Human Rights Act, when our allies and partners systematically flout the European Convention on Human Rights. Talk of human rights abuses invariably focuses on the US, with sneering TV documentaries about Guantanamo or CIA “extraordinary rendition”. But on much of the Continent they don’t allow civil liberty lawyers to turn terrorism into a risk-free activity.

When the Socialist Interior Minister of Spain organised a campaign of assassinating Eta terrorists across the border in France during the 1990s, he was following in the footsteps of French governments that had routinely killed FLN and OAS arms traders in the 1960s. Getting Spain’s message, France began deporting Eta suspects to places such as Papua New Guinea, and has since been repatriating radical Islamist clerics. The Germans, likewise, did not hesitate to deport a Turkish imam on grounds of national security, even though he had lived in Germany for 30 years. The former German Interior Minister, Otto Schily, once a lawyer for Baader-Meinhof defendants, cryptically remarked of the jihadis: “Those who love death can have it.”

While we agonise about 28 or 56 days custody, it is not uncommon for terrorist suspects in France to be held in preventive detention for four or five years before their case goes to court. The use of intelligence intercept evidence in courts is being debated here, but the Italian security services have long made transcripts of this material available, so revealing the lying cynicism with which, for example, Milan-based Arab jihadis regard European asylum laws. And then there is the internet, one of the key means of radicalising Muslims. Wolfgang Schäuble, the German Interior Minister, wheelchair-bound since a 1990 assassination attempt, has argued recently in favour of hacking into the computers of Islamist radicals. We can’t even manage to shut down jihadi websites or to prohibit subversive organisations, such as Hizb ut-Tahir, from operating on university campuses where the dons think they are dealing with the usual middle-class radicals.

If Mr Brown’s anti-terrorism measures seem ignorant of what our fellow Europeans practise routinely, they also reflect an outmoded habit of separating domestic and foreign policy. Why is foreign aid not contingent upon warning recipient states that they will forfeit it if clerics they subsidise preach hatred of the West? Why aren’t we helping Afghanistan or Pakistan to build secular alternatives to the Saudi-financed madrassas where children are brainwashed with cartoon Jew killers? If this is a neo-Cold War, why are we failing to help the four fifths of Muslims who are not from the Middle East to assert themselves against that demented region?

The predictable racket between rival lawyers does not even begin to address the serious questions involved if we don’t wish to live in that grim caliphate or to be murdered by hysterical fanatics.

Michael Burleigh’s most recent book is Sacred Causes: Religion and Politics from the European Dictators to al-Qaeda

And we have that liberal fucking twat Shami Chakranarti lying her fucking arse off to the press and nobody has a clue!

Our pre-charge detention period for terror suspects now stands at 28 days - the longest in the free world.

This lie has been repeated countless times in the media. Yet in France, they detain suspected terrorists for 4 to 5 years without charge, technically there is NO LIMIT in France.

Iran harbors top Al Qaida leaders in safe houses, at base near Teheran

Another terrible, shocking, surprise ...salafist freaks working with khomeinist freaks to kill americasn and jews wherever they are found, and plunder their goods.... and achieve a world without zionism, McDonald's, commercials or humor

GERTZ - WASHINGTON — The U.S. intelligence community has determined that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has been working with Al Qaida leaders in Iran to plan attacks against the United States.

They said that from virtual house arrest in 2004, Iran has enabled the son of Al Qaida chief Osama Bin Laden and other top agents to plan operations and policy.

"Al Qaida's leadership has been coopted by Iran and constitutes an option for a major strike either in the Middle East or even the United States," an official said. "We always suspected some Al Qaida cooperation with Iran, but this is bigger than ever."

Officials said Al Qaida's leadership council, led by Saad Bin Laden, the son of the movement's founder, convenes nearly monthly in Iran. They said senior operatives arrive for meetings from Afghanistan and Pakistan as Teheran supplies Al Qaida with weapons and facilitates the flow of operatives to neighboring Iraq.

DUH, gee, I was told they hated each other and would never work together.

Nevermind that the balance reflects the choices of the american people over 30 years

Schumer to fight ALL/ANY new Bush high court picks

New York Sen. Charles E. Schumer, a powerful member of the Democratic leadership, said Friday the Senate should not confirm another U.S. Supreme Court nominee under President Bush “except in extraordinary circumstances.”

“We should reverse the presumption of confirmation,” Schumer told the American Constitution Society convention in Washington. “The Supreme Court is dangerously out of balance. We cannot afford to see Justice Stevens replaced by another Roberts, or Justice Ginsburg by another Alito.”

Now, though I favored many of decisions made by the courts of the late 40's to the late 60's, I wonder what Chucky would have said if Everett Dirksen had said all that about the decisions of Earl Warren, William O Douglas, Robert Jackson, Thurgood Marshall, and Arthur Goldberg and others ... who served at the appointments of liberal (now neocon) presidents of the USA chosen by the people of the USA over LENGTHY periods of time.

By stating that the court is dangerously our of balance, Schumer has stated the US people are dangerously unbalanced, and that we have been in electing those men whose chose those justices over a VERY long time.

Do any of these people realize how they sound?

Just imagine if Rush Limbaugh was organizing this against CNN

Liberals (MOVEON) about to pressure advertisers to DROP FOX NEWS

After all if you can't succeed because the people FREELY CHOOSE what to watch, and you dislike that choice, TAKE AWAY THE CHOICE BY OTHER MEANS, because YOU know what's best.

Why am I still a democrat?

NEW YORK (AP) - Liberal activists are stepping up their campaign against Fox News Channel by pressuring advertisers not to patronize the network.

MoveOn("we paid for this party").org, the Campaign for America's Future and liberal blogs like DailyKos.com are asking thousands of supporters to monitor who is advertising on the network. Once a database is gathered, an organized phone-calling campaign will begin, said Jim Gilliam, vice president of media strategy for Brave New Films, a company that has made anti-Fox videos.

The groups have successfully pressured Democratic presidential candidates not to appear at any debate sponsored by Fox, and are also trying to get Home Depot Inc. to stop advertising there.

Gee, I and my business have spent 5 figures at Home Depot in the last year. Lowe's is about to open nearby ...guess what MY call to Home Depot is going to say?.

A Loving Extermination

The National Post via Daimnation:

A fundamentalist Pakistani preacher, taken off the air by VisionTV this week in response to complaints, defended his beliefs about Jews yesterday but denied he was a hatemonger.

One paragraph later:

But the written statement, issued by his personal secretary in Lahore, went on to explain Mr. Ahmad's belief that the Holocaust was "Divine punishment" and that Jews would one day be "exterminated."

What could possibly be hateful about that?

Infidel Babes Of The Week

Ok, I have decided to follow Jesus right into the Holy Land. Yes, that's right. Israel is the place to be. Just look at these chicks; both Israeli models.

The first babe is Galit Gutman. A land flowing with milk and honey indeed.

I'll make her honey flow anytime. I'm Samson for ransom, baby. Get over here! I'll pull your walls down.

The second babe is Dorit Bar On. This chick might not be for everyone, but she hits the peculiar Pastorius palate just right. Oh, Dorit's love, and the broken open date of her lips, are sweeter than wine. I want to roll her around on my tongue. I want to put her in my press and squeeze the juice from her.

She is a garden spring,
A well of fresh water
And her streams flow from Lebanon.

Why Evil Will, Inevitably, Destroy Itself

A friend of mine wrote to me today to criticize my criticism of people like Robert Spencer and Mark Steyn. I don't have a lot of time to write a complete post on the subject today, so I'm just going to excerpt bits of our email conversation.

Let me start by saying my criticism of Mark Steyn is that all he does is relentlessly tell us about how and why we are going to lose. I have questioned over and over what woud happen if a football coach would do the same thing. In other words, what would happen if a coach went into the locker room for his pre-game speech to the players, and instead of presenting a game plane, proceeded to tell them about why they are going to lose.

The answer is, of course, the team would likely become demoralized, and they would lose.

We need more talk of winning, of winning strategies, and of our willingness to do whatever it takes to kill our enemy.

Now, here is the conversation, as far as it is as of now:

You said: Mark Steyn is all about jolting people into the reality that yes, this is a deadly serious situation, and that's why he sounds grim.

I say: Yes I agree. I don't think Steyn is a bad guy, or whatever. He serves his purpose.

However, as you say, those who are aware will tune into LGF or IBA. The people who read IBA and LGF need to be told how to win, instead of about the inevitability of our losing. They need to be challenged to fight. As old time IBA writer, Thomas the Wraith said (quoting from the movie The Untouchables), "What are you willing to do?

Honestly, dude, we need to be willing to fight it ourselves, if our government won't.

I have a hard time believing that if I lived in France the past couple years that I would have remained a non-violent person.

You say: With a Democrat in charge, we may avoid a catastrophic terrorist attack, but that would come only through our gradual accomodation of Islam, which is also on the Dems' platform. That is the worst case scenario for me, that we don't even fight back.

I say: Did you ever read Milton's Paradise Lost? There is a scene towards the beginning of the book which wonderfully illustrates the character of evil. A third of the angels have just been thrown out of heaven, and they have landed, and they are regrouping. They are making their plans about how to overthrow God.

Thing is, the fallen angels fall to fighting amongst each other over all manner of things, from who is most fit to lead, to strategy, and even as to why God is the evil one.

Point being, evil is destined to destroy itself.

And always remember the saying "Pride goeth before the fall."

The beginning of evil is always pride.

That's why, though I do believe the Jihadis have a sound strategy by which they are currently working, I do not believe they will be able to keep it up.

They will, inevitably, overreach, because that's what evil does.

This might sound like a bunch of superstitious, ignorant mumbo jumbo, but then again, I know you believe in a kind of fundamentalist Catholicism, even though you aren't into practicing it all the time.

You and I have a lot in common in that way.

Anyway, I believe that the fundamental ideas of Christianity and, thereby, of Western Civilization are sound. I think we will eventually (indeed we are already seeing) a mass return to Christian and Western ideals. I think faith has deepened for many people. I think it is an inner strengthening that is going on, and it is silent.

However, if you talk to people like me, and realize that I was a Chomsky-reading idiot just six and a half years ago, then you see what I mean.

There are many people like me, though I am among the most vocal.

The other phenomena we are witnessing is a separation of the cell of America, like mitochondria lining up to break apart. We are seeing this, and it will happen inevitably. We may have some sort of Civil War, or we may just have massive resistance, as we did during the beginning stages of WWII. Roosevelt, like Lincoln, and Reagan, was among the most hated of Presidents.

That's a fact.

Sure, he was elected four times, but that doesn't mean he was also hated by the Lindbergs and the Fords (the Soros' and Moore's of their time) and all their followers.

We're going to get through this, but it's going to be a bloodbath on many levels.

Jimmy Carter is trying to kill me

After a heart attack, it's a risk every time I read the man's words. Responsible editors need to recognize this threat to me and eliminate his words permanently as a risk to a small, endangered minority, in a rural area.

One of the most important things for all people to remember in these difficult times is that there are more compatibilities than differences among the major religions – at least concerning treatment of one another as individuals.

Gulp, sure all the jews and christians and hindus and buddhists claim their treatment of others are the result of the revealed, perfect immutable words of God.

In some Islamic societies, women are relegated by official religious laws to subservient positions in society where they must remain veiled, cannot operate an automobile or compete with men for a job, and often receive inferior if any education. In other more secular nations of the same faith, all of these restrictions are absent.

You mean like Pakistan where the MMA now wins every election by landslides on a RELIGIOUS basis?

Within predominantly Christian societies, civil laws usually provide for equal treatment of women, while religious organizations are often the primary source of discrimination, which provides a justification for similar inequities within the secular world.

Surprise ! While I am no admirer of James Dobson (to say the least) I have to admit that it's news to me that christian wives are relegated to "similar inequities" to license-less, chador and burqqa clad ladies not allowed out without suitable male guardianship from the consciousless walking penises crowding the streets.

Why does this stupid, naive, dangerous, and foolish man vex me so ... I feel like Ahab, charging the 1st mate to go on ..'BECAuSE HE TASKS ME STARRBUCK, HE TASKS ME....'

Jimmy Carter has NO PLACE at this table.

Build HOMES, Jimmy, You are meant for that fulfillment and are supreme at it. We NEED you to help people in that way. BUILD HOMES!

An Important Messge From Anti-CAIR

Andrew Whitehead of Anti-CAIR (Anti-Council of American-Islamic Relations) sent this along. Please read it carefully, and help, if you can:

My name is Andrew Nitzberg and I am a trial attorney practicing largely in the state of New York. I am the lawyer responsible for the trial victory of Lee Kaplan against Mohammed Salahi earlier this year. (The action was for private speech by Salahi that cost Lee Kaplan several jobs. The 'free speech' defense fell flat because this was for private, not public, speech. The court records and decision are posted online by the California court administration.)

I am filing for an injunction against George Mason University for their upcoming conference of the 'International Solidarity movement', the US wing of Hamas.

I need assistance in the form of evidence. Of course there is lots of evidence to show that the ISM is a violent, Jew-hating group which directly assists terrorists in coming to their targets and similar activities. But i need evidence admissible in a court of law.

No one will be required to appear in court or to travel (except me -- the pro bono (unpaid) lawyer).

1. I need statements from persons who have directly observed ISM personnel stating things like,

"Kill the Jews",
"We support the resistance of the Palestinian people even when they engage in Terrorism" ,
"We work with Hamas in the West Bank and Gaza",
"We work with Hizballah".

Persons attending the Michigan ISM conference in (I think) 2002 would be very helpful here.

2. I need statements indicating that persons have observed ISM persons beating up persons who do not support the agenda of the ISM (this should be very easy- they beat people up every year at these things.

3. I need statements that persons have personally observed ISM personnel with weapons or transporting weapons. Statements from ISM personnel that admit to such contact with weapons are excellent.

4. There are people looking for the 'perfect plaintiff' for the action. (We have general students (2) eager to sign on, but we would like the 'perfect plaintiff' -- who is a student (BA or grad)/administrator/faculty member who has a family member in Israel. (The Virginia criminal code makes this a very attractive plaintiff). Any Jewish person is eligible because we can shake the family tree and find some relative who is living in Israel.

Thank you for this help. Every terrorist is my enemy because I am a friend to freedom. I am hopeful that I will find many friends in this effort.

Italian lawmakers propose Imam registry

To rephrase Robert A. Heinlein's Lazarus Long, "Any mullah or imam must be presumed guilty until proved innocent".

(Rome) Three Italian lawmakers proposed creating a national registry of Muslim clerics with no criminal past to weed out fundamentalist imams.

The parliamentarians presented a draft bill and justified their action in part by pointing to last weekend's arrest of a Muslim cleric accused of running a "terrorism school" at his mosque in Perugia, central Italy. Police have put another imam preaching in the region under investigation.

Director of Homeland Security: We Need Two New Brigades To Deal With Nuclear Terrorism

Hope your morning coffee has a refreshing aroma, and I hope you have a nice day:

WASHINGTON (AP) - The U.S. military commander in charge of defending the U.S. homeland said Tuesday that he believes there are al-Qaida cells in the United States or people working to create them.

Air Force Gen. Victor "Gene" Renuart said that while the terrorism threat within the nation's boundaries has increased in the past year, officials have strengthened intelligence sharing, particularly in an effort to shore up weaknesses in security at U.S. ports.

"I believe there are cells in the United States, or at least people who aspire to create cells in the United States," Renuart said in an interview with The Associated Press. "To assume that there are not those cells is naive and so we have to take that threat seriously."

He added, "Am I concerned that this will happen this summer, I have to be concerned that it could happen any day."

Other U.S. officials last week said they did not know of al-Qaida cells in the United States.
Renuart, who took over the job as the head of
U.S. Northern Command just four months ago, said that to counter the growing threat, the military also needs to create two more brigade-size units to be available to respond to nuclear, chemical and biological incidents at home—because currently there is only one. A brigade is about 3,500 troops.

Renuart's comments came in the wake of a national intelligence report released last week, which concluded that al-Qaida is using its growing strength in the Middle East to plot attacks on U.S. soil.

A Putrid Faith

Gulf News:

Egypt's top cleric yesterday denied in a statement that he had said a Muslim can give up his faith without punishment.

He doesn't specify what that punishment might be.

"There is a campaign by secularists to distort the image of Dr Ali Goma'a," a senior official in Al Azhar told Gulf News.

"He cannot deny punishment in this life for the apostate," said Mustafa Al Chaka of the Islamic Research Centre.

Khaybar Oasis makes an excellent comment. An excerpt:

[...] in Islamic societies, publicly expressed apostasy from Islam is considered a threat to the well-being of Muslims.

He [the Egyptian cleric] also wrote: "If the case in question is one of merely rejecting faith, then there is no worldly punishment."

Right; not merely "rejecting faith." The distinction in mainstream Islam, and apparently endorsed by Gomaa, is that the apostasy from Islam must be public, i.e., must be detected through some overt words or acts, to constitute a crime worthy of earthly punishment. So if you keep secret your apostasy, and no other person finds out about it or reports it, you won't be punished, except by Allah. Nothing new there. That is classical Islamic jurisprudence.

I think this Egyptian cleric, Ali Goma, was trying to sugarcoat the vile nature of Islamic law. Now, that his untrue comment has got too much attention, he's backpedaling.

Read this and shudder at what really happens to ex-Muslims in Egypt:

One week ago, on July 16, these same family members openly threatened to kill Al-Sayed for leaving Islam to become a Christian, after spotting her walking through a fair in Alexandria.

Local police promptly took her into “protective custody,” allegedly to prevent her physical harm at the hands of her irate Muslim relatives.

But instead of protecting her, local police and State Security Investigation (SSI) officials have subjected the threatened woman to days of severe physical and emotional torture. Her maltreatment included electrical shocks, beatings and being photographed naked.

The state of Egyptian law:

After becoming a Christian in January 2003, Al-Sayed had obtained Christian identity papers under the name of Maryan Eleya Saleeb and married a Christian man. Egyptian law does not permit anyone born a Muslim to change his or her religion, nor can a Muslim woman marry a Christian.

Victory for John Does!

See recent postings at the The Center for Vigilant Freedom. Excerpt from a recent posting, quoting Frank Gaffney:

Thanks to the leadership of Sens. Joe Lieberman and Susan Collins, the chairman and ranking minority member, respectively, of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, and especially that of Rep. Pete King, Sen. Collins’ counterpart on the House Homeland Security Committee, legislation along the lines of that adopted by an overwhelming bipartisan majority of the House of Representatives last May at Rep. King’s initiative will shortly become law.

The language will provide protection against the sorts of harassment lawsuits filed by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) after several unidentified individuals reported six Muslim imams engaged in suspicious – and frightening – behavior prior to boarding a USAir flight in November 2006. CAIR has been identified as a front organization for the Muslim Brotherhood and is an un-indicted co-conspirator in an alleged terrorism-financing plot.

Egyptian Mufti Denies Saying Apostasy Should Not Be Punished By Death

Yesterday, I was happy to report that the Egyptian Grand Mufti had declared that apostasy ought no longer be punished with the death penalty.

But, today, I find he denies ever saying any such thing. Oh well, back to the 7th century we go.

Thanks to Anonymous for sending this in:

Egypt’s official religious advisor has ruled that Muslims are free to change their faith as it is a matter between an individual and God, in a move which could have far-reaching implications for the country’s Christians.

“The essential question before us is can a person who is Muslim choose a religion other than Islam? The answer is yes, they can,” Grand Mufti Ali Gomaa said in a posting on a Washington Post-Newsweek forum picked up by the Egyptian press on Tuesday.

“The act of abandoning one’s religion is a sin punishable by God on the Day of Judgement. If the case in question is one of merely rejecting faith, then there is no worldly punishment,” he wrote.
Just one little problem.

That may be what the infidels want to hear, but it’s not what he really believes.

Cairo: Egypt’s top cleric yesterday denied in a statement that he had said a Muslim can give up his faith without punishment.

Ali Goma’a, the mufti of Egypt, was quoted as saying in a posting on a Washington Post-Newsweek forum that Muslims are free to change their faith and this is a matter between an individual and God.

“What I actually said is that Islam prohibits a Muslim from changing his religion and that apostasy is a crime, which must be punished,” Goma’a said.

Your Papers, Please

Guest Editorial by Edward Cline:

Earlier this year, under “Chertoff the ‘Crime Czar’” (April 7) I remarked:

“The strongest evidence that the U.S. is not only losing the “war on terror,” but will be struck again with perhaps greater force, is the siege mentality of those charged with protecting the nation. Instead of destroying the states that sponsor terrorism, the U.S. is conducting the ‘war’ as though the enemy was some kind of super-Mafia gang whose members had to be detected and deterred. All we need do, goes the thinking, is identify the bad guys and keep them from entering the country. It elects to fight enemies dedicated to destroying this country with the methods suitable to Eliot Ness in his pursuit of bootleggers.”

I might have added that the “enemy” also includes Americans and harmless foreign visitors flying the American skies.

On my way back from the OCON conference on July 16th, I had a three-hour layover at Dallas-Ft. Worth airport (DFW) before boarding my flight to Richmond. This airport is one of the most traveler-unfriendly airports in the country. There are four main terminals – A, B, C, and D – and if one is unlucky enough to taxi up to terminal A and one’s connecting flight is at terminal D, one must rush through the throngs to find the “Sky Link” train to take to D. If one’s connecting flight is at terminal B, the same grueling exercise is necessary; on a map of DFW, A is adjacent to B, but actually not connected to it. At least, I couldn’t find a short crossover to it indicated in the bewildering array of signs.

So one boards the train and perhaps seven stops later, one arrives at the connecting terminal. Then one must find the right gate, and that could be in one of three directions and is usually a five to ten minute hike at a near run. With luck, one’s connecting flight gate hasn’t been changed.

I don’t know the financial history of DFW, that is, who or what paid for this “multiplex” abomination. But I’m betting that the Sky Link train was built with some Federal funds, and that the rest of this locked-down prison received a big share of state and Federal loot, as well, to make it so “modern.”

I confess a contempt for Texas in general. I lived there once. Its native boosters posture as really free, proud, independent individuals – “Howdy, pardner!” – whose ancestors were at the Alamo and all that. But, thanks to pork barrel politics, Texas is one of the biggest pigs at the Federal teat. The Lone Star state degenerated into the Lone Statist state, and taxpayers from Maine to Idaho are helping those “rugged” loners buy the ten-gallon hats that are as phony as the vaunted Texan “independence.”

DFW is also smoker hostile. What accounts for that must be the Bush family influence and the pull of other native anti-smoking evangelists. Unlike many other airports in the country, such as the Cincinnati airport, which provides several smokers’ lounges in its terminal complete with wall-installed lighters, DFW forces smoking travelers to make a decision: “quit” for perhaps hours before boarding a connecting flight, or go outside, if you can find an exit close to your connecting gate. That’s Texas hospitality for you.

The catch is: go outside, and go through the TSA’s pickpocket alley again. Even with a boarding pass. Which brings me to my main subject: the Transportation Safety Administration, and how futile, invasive, abusive, corrupt, and costly it is.

The TSA is futile on three counts: if Islamic terrorists strike the U.S. again, they won’t be coming through its airports. They are already here, or will find other ways into the country. Any Islamists with killing on their agenda will know that they are on various national and international watch lists (not that these are very effective anyway) and that their profiles must practically include their shoe sizes as well as their education history and national origin. They are going to poison a reservoir or run an oil tank truck through a shopping mall or the like, or work quietly to assemble the parts for a “dirty” bomb to detonate in some major city’s business district or seaport –and not to try to turn commercial aircraft into missiles again. Simply put, they are going to bypass the TSA and any other barriers erected by Homeland Security.

(The denizens of Washington D.C. needn’t worry about anything bad happening there; the Islamists have too many good friends in Congress, the White House, and the State Department whom they wouldn’t want to risk hurting or killing. So, all the security arrangements in Parasite City intended to deter terrorist attacks – the blockaded streets and surveillance and the like – are quite pointless.)

The TSA is futile because if President Bush dealt properly with this country’s enemies – Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Pakistan – it would not be necessary. When this country was genuinely in a declared war with two formidable enemies in the 1940’s, air travel was not made miserable by any kind of federally imposed policy of search and seizure. Knock out or overthrow our current enemies, and their fellow travelers and jihadists in the U.S. and Europe would scurry back into their holes of anonymity, grateful that they weren’t vaporized or caught in the imam and mullah roundups. And all those power-happy unemployables waving their wands and picking through purses and feeling one’s rolled-up socks at our airports would have to find honest, productive work elsewhere.

The TSA is futile, because I got through three lighters and several packs of matches right under the noses of its thugs. I put them in the gray basket in which one is supposed to put one’s shoes and all pocket paraphernalia, including belts (women’s jewelry goes into what looks like white bedpans). Four times my basket went through their much-touted metal or illegal substance detectors, and all four times the baskets came down the ramp, their contents untouched, unscrutinized, unmolested. There is a way to fool the machines and the mini-minds that run them, which I will not divulge here. So much for the severity and thoroughness of airport security.

But a new, absurd TSA rule is: no bottled water can be brought through “security.” The water must be consumed or emptied out before a bottle can pass. Then one can fill it at a water fountain inside the terminal. Which obviates the purpose of buying spring water. What do these geniuses think anyone is going to take onboard? Nitro? Or some other, unstable, colorless, odorless liquid that won’t blow up in one’s backpack or purse on the way to the airport?

The TSA is abusive and invasive. At DFW I had my smoke, came through “security” again, then stopped to watch the unemployables put some Russian- or Polish-speaking tourists through hell. The irony is that everyone in this group was wearing an “I love America” shirt or sweater. Two were carrying small American flags on sticks. (The sticks somehow didn’t qualify as potential weapons, I guess.) One woman, who was at least 75, was made to walk through the X-ray four or five times. Each time she activated the alarm. Finally, they took her aside and repeatedly waved a wand over every inch of her body, including through her hair and between her toes. In the meantime, she was made to stand with her arms in the air. The unemployables just couldn’t figure it out.

I approached the TSA goon nearest me. “It’s the sequins,” I said.

“Huh?” the goon said, turning to me with suspicion.

“What’s setting off the alarm in the wand too is the metal in her sequins. Those sparkling things on her pullover sweater that say ‘I love America’?” I almost added “stupid,” but I wanted to see this woman’s humiliating ordeal ended, and held my tongue.

“Sir, please stand outside the security area,” answered the goon with all the patronizing officiousness of a school crossing guard.

But the goon then had a powwow with his colleagues. The woman was told to remove her sweater. She did, and walked through the X-ray again. No alarm. She was allowed to keep the sweater. Big-hearted Texans, I guess. Welcome to America, land of the free, home of the searched.

The TSA is corrupt. I have yet to see a TV special report on what happens to all the private property confiscated from passengers’ personal effects and luggage by the TSA. Its value by now must be in the billions. I’m certain it isn’t “destroyed,” and that a whole new racket has sprung into existence to “dispose” of that property. The TSA and its otherwise unemployable employees must have a vested interest in it since they’re the ones who steal it and must stow it somewhere.

But, this is a job for John Stossel and 20/20.

A brief news report on ABC last night featured an interview with a TSA official who said that “someone” is testing airport security by sending fake “bombs” through it, such as bricks of cheese with wires stuck in them. Frankly, these are either pranks or jihadists just ribbing the TSA.

The TSA is costly, not only in terms of taxpayer dollars to run and staff it and in terms of all the property that is confiscated that disappears into the black hole of corruption, but, far more importantly, in terms of abridged or surrendered rights. Are Americans growing too inured to the TSA’s legalized shakedowns? I think many of them are. The Bush administration has adopted a siege policy; most Americans have accepted and tolerate the role of being suspects.

Back in Washington D.C., Jihad Watch reports that Democrats want to remove from a Homeland Security bill a provision that protects Americans from lawsuits if they report suspicious activity on the part of Muslims and the Muslims are subsequently inconvenienced by the authorities. Doubtless Congressman Keith Ellison, Muslim and Democrat from Minnesota, is one of those who oppose the provision. Recall that Ellison, like Rosie O’Donnell, suggested that 9/11 was staged by President Bush as a ruse to seize power and blame the Muslims for the attack, just as the Reichstag fire in 1933 was staged by Hitler as an excuse to seize power and blame the Communists for the fire. He made the analogy, I didn’t.

On June 27th, several senior White House officeholders attended the rededication of the Islamic Center in Washington on its 50th anniversary. That was bad enough. Several of these “dignitaries” were women, including Fran Townsend, assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, and Karen Hughes, Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs (another Texan and longtime crony of Bush’s). The Getty Images photo of the American dhimmis shows all the women wearing headscarves.

The White House itself has chosen to cozy up to such Islamic organizations as CAIR and MPAC, while Douglas Farah’s Counterterrorism blog reports that Bush has even extended a hand of friendship to the Muslim Brotherhood, the grandfather of most Islamic jihadist gangs. Through third parties – chief of whom is former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, an unemployable of elevated rank – it is dealing with Hamas, and has publicly announced its support of Palestinian Fatah.

Yesterday, July 24th, Bush’s envoys had their second round of talks with Iran, but not about the Americans being held hostage by Snake Eyes Ahmadinejad. To demand their release would be too tactless, you know. But the spineless, Christian character of Jimmy Carter is held to be a model of moral behavior to be emulated. (But, don’t forget Ronald Reagan, who did nothing to retaliate against the murder of over 200 Marines in Lebanon.) Why accuse Iran of killing American soldiers in Iraq when its leader is open to negotiation? That would only make Ahmadinejad angry.

In the meantime, all over America, arrogant unemployables in spiffy rent-a-cop style uniforms are closely examining the contents of women’s purses and nebnosing through men’s briefcases in search of threats to the “homeland.”

And, in the meantime, I keep thinking of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, who so badly wanted to chastise the Barbary States for enslaving American citizens and seizing American property in the Mediterranean, and who each finally got his chance in 1805 and 1815. Neither Jefferson nor Madison elected to put Americans through a security wringer to ensure that the Islamists of their time didn’t slip into the “homeland” to sabotage all the canal-building projects.

They sent the U.S. Navy to the source of the problem, and that was the end of that.

Weekly Radio Show: July 27

Listen to The Gathering Storm Radio Show, which WC and I cohost. The show broadcasts live every Friday for one hour at noon, Pacific Time.

The call-in number is (646) 915-9870.

Callers welcome!

Friday, July 27: Special show! We have two interviewees scheduled this week!

Our first guest, Bob McCarty of Bob McCarty Writes™ will be with us at the top of the hour. According to his bio, his mix of humor, politics, culture and capitalism has earned him guest appearances on a number of radio programs, ranging from the pH pHactor on KFYR-AM in Bismarck, N.D., to Allman in the Morning, Nothing But Truth and The Randy Tobler Show — all on 97.1 FM Talk, the Fox News Radio station in Saint Louis. In addition, he’s appeared as a guest on BBC Worldwide Radio’s World Have Your Say program three times — usually as the lone conservative voice in a crowd of bleeding-heart liberals! All this week, Bob has been following the goings-on at "Muslims Speak Out," the dialogue at the Washington Post/Newsweek On Faith Forum; WC and I plan to discuss Bob's observations there.

Our second scheduled guest at the bottom of the hour is Chaim of the Freedom's Cost blog, which discusses Judaism, its history and how it is being scapegoated by those with a much more nefarious agenda, an agenda that will affect far more than merely the Jews of the West.
If you are unable to listen live to the radio show, you can listen to recordings of the radio broadcasts later by CLICKING HERE.

Airports Warned About Terrorist Dry Runs - But, What The Fuck Are They Going To Do About It?

You know, with the John Doe law and all. So fucking stupid they are.

Ok, so terrorists may conduct dry runs. And, who is going to tell on them, when one can have the life sued right of oneself, just for mentioning that you think, perhaps, this or that guy might be a terrorist.

Anyway, from the Associated Press:

WASHINGTON - Airport security officers around the nation have been alerted by federal officials to look out for terrorists practicing to carry explosive components onto aircraft, based on four curious seizures at airports since last September.

The unclassified alert was distributed on July 20 by the Transportation Security Administration to federal air marshals, its own transportation security officers and other law enforcement agencies.

The seizures at airports in San Diego, Milwaukee, Houston and Baltimore included "wires, switches, pipes or tubes, cell phone components and dense clay-like substances," including block cheese, the bulletin said. "The unusual nature and increase in number of these improvised items raise concern."

Security officers were urged to keep an eye out for "ordinary items that look like improvised explosive device components."

The 13-paragraph bulletin was posted on the Internet by NBC Nightly News, which first reported the story.

A federal official familiar with the document confirmed the authenticity of the NBC posting but declined to be identified by name because it has not been officially released.

"There is no credible, specific threat here," TSA spokeswoman Ellen Howe said Tuesday. "Don't panic. We do these things all the time."

Ok Ellen, I won't panic. None of us will. We'll just sit on our hands like good Germans, and ignore the tragedy unfolding, you stupid bitch.

Oh Jeez, did I say that?

Pew Poll: Muslims Increasingly Reject Violence

The Pew Research Center does, to my mind, the most accurate polling of any polling company. Why?

Methodology, of course.

They use an automated system, which assures two important things;

1) they can poll a larger number of people,

2) each individual question and answer session is conducted in the exact same manner, therefore, eliminating the inddividual pollster's bias from the process.

Therefore, if you agree with the questions Pew asks, then you would agree with the results.

Anyway, point is, when Pew puts out a poll that says a growing number of Muslims are rejecting violence, I think you can safely assume that it is true:

WASHINGTON (AP) - Muslims around the world increasingly reject suicide bombings and other violence against civilians in defense of Islam, according to a new international poll dealing with how the world's population judges their lives, countries and national institutions.

A wide ranging survey of international attitudes in 47 countries by the Pew Research Center also reported that in many of the countries where support for suicide attacks has declined, there has also has been decreasing support for al-Qaida leader Osama bin-Laden.

The 95-page survey found that surging economic growth in many developing countries has encouraged people in these countries to express satisfaction with their personal lives, family income and national conditions, said Andrew Kohut, the center's director.

"It's a pro-globalization set of findings," Kohut said.

Most notably, the survey finds large and growing number of Muslims in the Middle East and elsewhere rejecting Islamic extremism. Ten mainly Muslim countries were surveyed along with the Palestinian territories, as well as five African nations with large Muslim populations.

For example, the percentage of Jordanian Muslims who have confidence in bin Laden as a world leader fell 36 percentage points to 20 percent since 2003 while the proportion who say suicide bombing is sometimes or always justified dropped 20 percent points to 23 percent. Other countries where support for bin Laden declined are Lebanon, Indonesia, Turkey, Pakistan and Kuwait.

The report said support for such bombings and terror tactics has dropped since 2002 in seven of the eight countries where data were available. In Lebanon, the proportion of Muslims who say suicide attacks are often or sometimes justified fell to 34 percent from 79 percent while just 9 percent of Pakistanis believe suicide bombings can be justified often or sometimes, down from 33 percent in 2002 and a high of 41 percent in 2004.

But support for suicide bombings is widespread among Palestinians, the report said, with 41 percent saying such attacks are often justified while another 29 percent say they can sometimes be justified. It found that only six percent of Palestinians—the smallest in any Muslim public surveyed—say such attacks are never justified.

Amid continuing sectarian violence in Iraq, the survey found there is broad concern among Muslims that tensions between Sunni and Shiite Muslims are not limited to that country and represent a growing problem for the Muslim world more generally.

Eighty-eight percent of Lebanese and 73 percent of Kuwaitis—along with smaller majorities or pluralities of Muslims elsewhere in the Middle East—said Sunni-Shiite tensions represent a growing problem for the Muslim world, the report said.

Globally, Pew's survey shows a clear linkage between economic conditions and views of national conditions.

"A rising tide really does lift all boats," Kohut said.

This trend is particularly evident in Latin America and Eastern Europe, but China and India also stand out, the report said.

While Africans now express a greater sense of personal progress than in 2002, personal contentment remains low in all African countries relative to other parts of the world.

In Western Europe, Swedes and Spaniards express broad satisfaction with national conditions as well as with their governments and leaders.

"In contrast," the report said, "people in France and Italy, which have experienced little economic growth since 2002, are critical of their nation's course and their governments."

The French were polled before Nicolas Sarkozy replaced Jacques Chirac as president in May and gave jobs to several opposition Socialists in his Cabinet.

In China, where per capita gross domestic product, has increased 58 percent since 2002, its people expressed much more satisfaction than in 2002_ 83 percent now compared to 48 percent. The Chinese also give near universal support for the national government, 89 percent, and say the government has a very good or somewhat good influence on the way things are going.

But the pollsters in China were not able to ask respondents to express opinions about President Hu Jintao.

The polls—with a sampling error of 2 to 4 percentage points, depending on the sampling size—were taken in various countries from mid-April to the end of May, and involved about 1,000 samples in most countries. More interviews were conducted in India and China while fewer than 1,000 were carried out in European countries.

The Pew Research Center Poll seems to support the idea that economic security contributes to a drop in support for terrorism. So, what does that mean exactly? Where is this rising tide coming from? Could it be that the worldwide worry we have caused by threatening Iran, and destablizing Iraq, has had the ironic effect of raising the price of oil, which has led to a rising economic tide in the Muslim world causing Muslims to mellow the fuck out?

Jesus, what a strange world we live in, if that is how it has worked out.

And, if that is the case, then I wouldn't count on it to last.

But, what the hell do I know?

Student Activist Executed as Gang-Member

Iranian blogger Kamagir reports about Meisam Lofti, a well-known Iranian activist, has been hanged, accused of being a gang-member, something he was not.

He was sent to Evin prison after the July 1999 student riots.

His mother stated that their home was stormed at 1 am and he was shot with 17 bullets, 2 of which hit his leg.

He has been detained in an isolation facility for 55 days after he was accused of setting tires on fire after the fundamentalists' raid to the dormitory of University of Teheran.

Also he reports about the new crackdown on Inmodesty.

It's not rare then that most Iranians, acording to a poll, oppose the regime.

There has been another crackdown on "inmodesty".

(I have posted some photos in the blog).

Egypt: Mufti Banishes Death Penalty For Apostasy

Thanks to Ali Eteraz for sending this over to me. Ali says, "This is a huge day."

I agree. This is very clear progress.

Egypt’s official religious advisor has ruled that Muslims are free to change their faith as it is a matter between an individual and God, in a move which could have far-reaching implications for the country’s Christians.

“The essential question before us is can a person who is Muslim choose a religion other than Islam? The answer is yes, they can,” Grand Mufti Ali Gomaa said in a posting on a Washington Post-Newsweek forum picked up by the Egyptian press.

“The act of abandoning one’s religion is a sin punishable by God on the Day of Judgement. If the case in question is one of merely rejecting faith, then there is no worldly punishment,” he wrote.
In most Muslim countries, Muslims who convert to another religion are considered apostates and can be subject to capital punishment.

Mr Gomaa warned however that if the conversions undermine the “foundations of society” then it must be dealt with by the judicial system, without elaborating.

Attempts by Muslims in Egypt to convert to other religions have been hindered by the state’s refusal to recognise the change in official documents and in some cases have led to arrests and imprisonment.

The only caution I would urge is that we need to remember that Turkey which had been, and perhaps still is, the most moderate Muslim country in the greater Middle East, recently held elections which resulted in a huge swing towards Islamism.

My point being that Islamism sometimes seems like the hand that comes up from the grave in the old horror B-movie.

Wait A Minute - Now, Is That A Muslima Or A Whore?

Whores are starting to dress like Muslim women in Kenya. What happens when you can't tell the difference between the two?

Question: What's the quickest way to get Muslim women to stop wearing extremely conservative clothing?

Answer: Get prostitutes to start dressing like them.

In Mombasa, Kenya, the coastal city's "twilight ladies" have ditched their skimpy "uniforms" for the much more conservative buibui—a billowing, ankle-length gown with head covering that Muslim women in the region wear. Sex workers say it lets them hide their identity, avoid arrest, and look respectable.

Unsurprisingly, Muslim women who cover themselves head to toe with the buibui aren't exactly happy with this fashion makeover. One woman says:

I feel so embarrassed that sometimes I contemplate removing my buibui and throwing it away. The buibui has lost its respect.

In addition to the risk of being mistaken for a prostitute, there is another reason why this woman may want to reconsider covering herself head to toe: Conservative Muslim dress codes may be bad for women's health.

I'm trying to figure out, do I want to go to Lebanon, or not? This is a very, very tough decision.

At play in the field of the critical progressive jews or...

"Wasn't one of Bush's manifest mistakes for Israel in the long run his unstinting suppport for the state? Didn't that actually HURT Israel in the long run?"

Yes, it's the WTF brigades at work.

Some of you may have read my earlier tomes on my swimming upstream among the smart, thoughtful, nice and some very dead wrong critical progressive, actually ultra liberal, 'please don't torture KSM at gitmo', 'hamas will respond to pressure' jewish people we see frequently.

In this case, last sunday down in Bar Harbor, where the think tank folks from NYC and DC appear magically each summer, we had another talk given by a former AIPAC, Georgetown U prof. who is to say the least WELL informed and personally knowledgable of the PEOPLE, certainly of FATAH.

It's too bad this was a ME 101 (though his words on Lebanon verged further), because I have a feeling if he would consent to an 'advanced seminar' some interesting results among activists would obtain.

I have met this guy before and he seems ok. Last time around the crowd wanted to blame the lack of 'peace' on Sharon. So I asked about the poll just taken (then) which showed 58% of the pali's wanted the war to go on forever if the outcome meant no Israel. He acknowledged the poll, it's accuracy and said it showed nothing Sharon (or anyone) could have done would have made the slightest bit of difference.

This time the very same gavone asked his pointed question blaming the lack of progress on Bush, stating he HURT Israel by supporting them rather than forcing them to make painful (territorial ??) concessions (a la Bush I, I suppose). But this time the smarmy comments in the crowd were unrelenting, and the prof as well expressed his feeling that the negotiating EFFORT (in a general way) should have been made by Bush.

Unfortunately I was physically in a position not to be able to ask the usual pain the ass questions for the express pruposes of injecting the idea (again) that ..given that poll, given the election, given that Abbass will NEVER win against HAMAS, WHAT IS THERE TO NEGOTIATE about? Date of departure of jews for Fargo?

Offering Blood for Honor

Clayton Cramer makes a good point:

Honor killings are done to earn the respect of other members of the Muslim community--to expiate shame for what their daughter (apparently, never the son) has done. By this fact alone, it tells us that honor killings are considered acceptable or even necessary by some non-trivial fraction of the Muslim community in Britain.

This matter is very tough to comprehend. We wouldn't even think of penalizing, let alone killing, a woman who after divorcing an abusive husband starts dating a man from a different village. But for many in that closed culture, the boundaries for a woman are set whether they be physical or sensual. The punishment for breaking the shackles has to be dire and swift, so as to clearly remind all the rest to stay in their place.

Cramer is also correct in noting that this horrific standard doesn't apply to the men. A sick demonstration of this:

Today I was visiting the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan and my roommate, we’ll call her Sally, went with me because she had to meet with the same professor as I.

She started crying in the taxi on the way back home telling me about her experience the other night with her Jordanian boyfriend, we’ll call him Malik.

Sally and Malik haven’t been dating for very long and I won’t go into the details of their relationship, but she really did like this guy, and I liked him as well. He
seemed very Western, spoke English well, acted respectably, dressed nice, came from an affluent and well-off family. He even lived in Europe for two years and had relationships with girls there.

They went out to eat last night and she brought up the subject of honor killings. Malik nonchalantly said that he would be willing to kill his sister or support his uncle or dad if they killed her if she had sex.

Al-Qaeda faces rebellion from the ranks

Sickened by the group’s barbarity, Iraqi insurgents are giving information to coalition forces.

This is an incredible news, exactly what Democrats are terrified of - that we will succeed in Iraq.

(Iraq) Fed up with being part of a group that cuts off a person’s face with piano wire to teach others a lesson, dozens of low-level members of al-Qaeda in Iraq are daring to become informants for the US military in a hostile Baghdad neighbourhood.

The ground-breaking move in Doura is part of a wider trend that has started in other al-Qaeda hotspots across the country and in which Sunni insurgent groups and tribal sheikhs have stood together with the coalition against the extremist movement.

“They are turning. We are talking to people who we believe have worked for al-Qaeda in Iraq and want to reconcile and have peace,” said Colonel Ricky Gibbs, commander of the 4th Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, which oversees the area.

Serious Security Questions at Sky Harbor Airport - Phoenix

The ABC15 Investigation is getting national attention.

ABC15's Lisa Fletcher will be on Good Morning America Monday at 7 a.m.

It's what you have to do when you fly - use X-ray machines, metal detectors, and deal with liquid restrictions in your carry-on luggage. You know the drill.

Security checkpoints are just part of travel these days. They're supposed to keep us safe, so we use them - but not all of us and not all the time.

We've discovered a 4.5 hour time frame each night when virtually anything can be brought into the secure side of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. There's no metal detector, no X-ray machine, and it's apparently not a problem.

Afraid to show her face, one long time Sky Harbor employee talks about the security most people don't see.Lisa Fletcher: "You're telling me Sky Harbor's not safe?" Employee: "I'm telling you Sky Harbor's not safe and hasn't been for a long time."It's what we discovered in the middle of the night - TSA agents going away, and security guards taking over. It's 4.5 hours - every night - when an employee badge becomes an all-access pass.

Night after night, our hidden cameras captured what security experts tell us is a disaster waiting to happen. The X-ray machines were off, the metal detectors were closed, and bags with unknown contents were carried to the secure side of the airport where the planes are. We watched as a security guard let people with purses, coolers and suitcaseswalk right through - bags unchecked.

Even more surprising, some of the people you trust to keep you safe planned it this way.

Reliapundit speaks the truth clearly:

A police force withdrew plans for a televised appeal to help catch an Afghan suspected of sexually assaulting women after a race watchdog warned that it might spark a violent backlash.

Detectives were due to appear on an episode of ITV’s Manhunt to ask for help finding Noorullah Seddiqi, 34 ...

But the Chief Constable of the Devon and Cornwall force, Stephen Otter, told officers not to go ahead with the programme after the Devon Racial Equality Council, funded by and affiliated to the Commission for Racial Equality, said the appeal could lead to a racist backlash.

The BBC reveals that even general alerts on this chap apparently cause offence:

Police have been criticised for putting out a public appeal for Mr Seddiqi in April, three months after he broke bail.

This is NOT an example of appeasing the jihadist enemy, but an example of British skittishness about INCITING VIGILANTISM by Brits against Muslims.

This is also why PM Brown forbid the use of the words islam and terror in the same sentence.

I PREDICT: If there is another SUCCESSFUL jihado-terror attack in the UK, there WILL BE RETALIATORY VIGILANTISM. People want to be safe, and if the government fails to do what must be done to keep the people safe, then the people will do it themselves.

This will be true in the USA, too.

MY ADVICE TO MUSLIMS EVERYWHERE: If I were a moderate Muslim who wanted to remain safe and free, I'd worry about the potential for RETALIATORY VIGILANTISM - and how to prevent it.

Prevention will NOT come about by PC, or by agitating for additional rights and privileges - like CAIR. Nor will it come by arguing against government actions and laws meant to crackdown on the extremists, (like opposing the JOHN PROTECTION law).

The only way to prevent vigilantism against 3rd party Muslims is for all moderate Muslims to loudly and unambiguously condemn all islamo-extremism. This is the only way to prevent retaliatory vigilantism.

If you are not ADAMANTLY against them, then you - (the vigilante must conclude) MIGHT AS WELL be with them.

The cowardly actions of a PC administration will not protect you.

Infidel Man Of The Week

What, Pastorius? Have you gone gay on us?

Well, yeah, I have. What are you gonna do about it, mofo?

This guy, Shaun White, is a witch. I mean, the dude has to have magical powers. I looked all over the internet to try to find a video which does justice to what I saw on TV yesterday, but I have yet to find it.

Until then, this will have to suffice. (By the way, yes, you've seen him in TV commercials before.)

I don't even know the name of the event I was watching yesterday. All I know is it was some big skateboarding championship event, kind of like a golf tournament in hyperspace.

There were 20 of the world's top skaters lined up on an impossible looking ramp, which actually featured an almost inverted takeoff, in other words, not even a vertical dive (I'd swear it was a bit of a concave).

Jesus Christ Almighty, these guys have balls.

But, no one, NO ONE has bigger balls than this 20 year old kid from San Diego, California; Shaun White. What I saw him do defies logic. He is operating at several levels above his competition. When he goes up a ramp, he comes off it and ascends several feet higher into the air than anyone else seems to be capable of. When he turns his body in midair, it is with more force, speed, grace, and agility than anyone else. When he leaves his boards his fingers are able to play and control it's motion in the air like Leonard Bernstein weaving Mahler's Ninth out of a collection of musicians.

The kid is fucking elevated.

And, he knows it, and he cares about it. He wants to win like no one else. His will to win is incredible. He will defy defeat and even death. He will waste himself to win.

In the first round, he lost control of the board on one ascension, and he played with it in midair, changing its position, not one, not two, but three times, turning it over and over (BODY ALOFT) until he got the proper footing for his landing. He was like a jazz saxophonist performing on highwire. But alas, his chance-taking proved too much on another takeoff, and he fell.

In the second round, it was the same story, but this time, he fell from quite a height, straight down on his ass. Now, anyone who has ever had a lower-back disc problem will know, the last thing you ever want to do is fall straight down on your ass. And, his body must have known it instinctively, because at the last second, he reached behind himself with his left arm, and broke his fall, and his left wrist.

Now, here's where it gets amazing. What do you do when you break your left wrist, my friends? You go to the hospital and have it set in a cast, right?

What does Shaun White do when he breaks his left wrist? He goes out for another round, THIS TIME A PERFECT PERFORMANCE, and he

And, he celebrates like nobody's business. He's throwing his skateboard back and forth between his left and right hand. He's high fiving his friends. He's pounding of the ground with his fists.

In other words, in the throes of his adrenalin rush, he was pulverizing his broken left wrist.

Hey, no big deal, he's only twenty. The thing will probably heal better than new in six weeks.

But, I'll bet you anything he'll be out competing again before then.

Oh, and let me tell you two more amazing fucking facts about Shaun White;

1) Skateboarding is his SECOND sport. Snowboarding is his primary sport.

2) As a skateboarder, he has won 4 out of 7 tournaments in which he has competed.

There Is A War Coming, And It Will Start On August 2nd

Am I Nostradamus? No, I just know. I'll leave it up to you all to figure out how I know

From the Jerusalem Post:

IDF: Hizbullah moving rockets inside s. Lebanese villages

Hizbullah guerrillas have moved most of their rockets in south Lebanon among civilians in villages in an apparent attempt to avoid detection by Israel and UN troops, IDF officials said Sunday.

The new moves are part of Hizbullah's reorganization after the Second Lebanon War, the officials said. During the summer's war, Hizbullah fired almost 4,000 rockets at Israel.

While Lebanon criticized the IDF for targeting civilian areas during the war, Israel said Hizbullah was to blame for operating among civilians and putting them at risk.

Last summer, many of Hizbullah's rocket batteries were located in unpopulated rural areas, where the guerrillas dug networks of tunnels and fortifications, the officials said. But the army's new intelligence indicates that those positions had now largely been abandoned in favor of populated villages, which provide better cover for the group's activities. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity.

The UN-brokered cease-fire that ended the war expanded UNIFIL, the international peacekeeping force in south Lebanon, to 13,000 troops, entrusting it with ensuring that Hizbullah was not rearming near the Lebanon-Israel border.

Yasmina Bouziane, a UNIFIL spokesman in Lebanon, refused to comment on the Israeli charges.

A Hizbullah official in Beirut also refused to comment on the allegations. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said only that in the past Hizbullah guerrillas fired rockets at Israel from valleys and mountainous areas and not from inside villages.

The officials said Hizbullah's postwar efforts also included the construction of new fortifications north of the Litani River, farther from the Israeli border and out of UNIFIL's jurisdiction.

Yesterday, I posted this at Infidel Bloggers Alliance:

Iran In The Final Countdown?

From Pamela, at Atlas Shrugs:

Mahmud Ahmadi-Nejad’s Council of War
NE Intel Network
21 July 2007

OSINT and HUMINT source reports have combined within the past 48 hours to constitute one of the most striking dioramas ever seen in any region of the world just prior to the initiation of full-scale armed conflict. These reports are far more than the proverbial handwriting on the wall or mere belligerent rhetoric; they are virtual and tangible realities seen in most instances by disbelieving human eyes, so real they stun the senses with an aura of surrealism.

These intelligence items were then capped by a two-day council of war lorded over by Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadi-Nejad. The first day’s session was held Damascus, Syria on Thursday, with the second session moved to Tehran on Friday. The details of this Iranian-led council of war are found in in this report from DEBKAfile. The HUMINT items of particular interest follow below. Click the article title or “read more” above to continue with this important special report.

On July 5, 2007, the Iranian news agency IRNA reported that Syrian authorities had instructed all Syrian citizens residing in Lebanon to return to their country by July 15, 2007. The next day, the Israeli Arab daily Al-Sinara similarly reported, on the authority of a Lebanese source close to Damascus, that Syria was planning to remove its citizens from Lebanon.

Also on July 5, the Lebanese daily Al-Liwa reported rumors that Syrian workers were leaving Lebanon at the request of the Syrian authorities. In addition, the Syrian government daily Al-Thawra reported that Syrian universities would accept Syrian students who were leaving Lebanon due to the instability there.

Ahmadinejad: “This summer will see Muslim victories in the region and the defeat of our enemies!”Al Qaeda in Iran and more on that here.

It's gonna be a long, hot summer. Those who are concerned about Global Warming will want to keep their eyes open.

Iranian Proganda: Iranian News Agency Tells Iranians Americans Who Convert To Islam Get 20 Years

Remember, back in the day, Pravda, the Soviet news agency used to put out this kind of disinformation. It used to make me laugh and cry at the same time. I laughed because the stories were so preposterous and funny, but having had friends who had been to Soviet Union, I understood that the people believed the stories, and I understood the impact of such lies upon the mind of a populace.

There is the truth that the stories feed hatred towards America, of course, but the worst part is the death of hope that occurs in the minds of those who believed that America may be their last best hope.

And, of course, by doing nothing about their problems at this point, their hope is fading anyway.

Very sad. Here's the story (thanks to Jonz):

20 years prison for anyone who converts to Islam in the US

In a decision supported by Israel, anyone who converts to Islam in the US will be sentenced to 20 years in prison. According to the newspaper Altajdid [the name is Arabic], this law is suggested by an anti-Islam organization in the US and will result in more control over mosques. The idea behind this suggestion is that conversion to Islam will cause a crisis which will end in the destruction of the US government. This is the first such law in the world and will be carried out in American mosques very soon. The organization suggests that Zionist guards will provide information about 2,300 mosques and Islamic schools. The organization is working on another plan for enabling search inside the mosques.
