Kucinich, Syria, and REFUGEES - the height of my disgust with my own party

US Democratic hopeful Kucinich meets Assad, blasts Bush

US Democratic presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich, on a Mideast visit that included a stop in Syria, said the country lambasted by the Bush administration deserves credit for taking in more than a million Iraqi refugees

Kucinich, a strong anti-war opponent who trails far in the US presidential polls, also said he won't visit Iraq on his trip to the region because he considers the US military deployment there illegal.

I feel the United States is engaging in an illegal occupation ... I don't want to bless that occupation with my presence," he said in an interview in Lebanon, after visiting Syria. "I will not do it."

Kucinich, who accused the Bush administration of policies that have destabilized the Mideast, met with Syrian President Bashar Assad during his visit to Damascus. He said Assad was receptive to his ideas of "strength through peace."

He also praised Syria for taking in Iraqi refugees.

"What most people are not aware of is that Syria has taken in more than 1.5 million Iraqi refugees," Kucinich said. "The Syrian government has actually shown a lot of compassion in keeping its doors open, and being a host for so many refugees."

Kucinich said he would ask UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to follow up on the "dire conditions" in southern Lebanon, especially Israeli cluster bombs leftover from the war that have killed more than 30 and injured at least 200 since the fighting's end.

"There has to be a commitment to cleaning up these cluster bombs," Kucinich said.

What do you think Harry Truman and Franklin Roosevelt are thinking right now?

This man who goes to Syria to sympathize with genocidal murderers, who also help kill americans, is there to criticize the USA for selfish partisan reasons.

Dennis Kucinich is running for president of the United States.

He has no dignity, and less honor.

I do not know what wing of the Democrat party you're in, but one of the key elements of the left is diplomacy. If Kucinich's Syria trip did not sit well with you, I suggest you join a different party.

Epa,

You and I are both life long Democrats, but Anonymous is right. What choice do we have?

At this point it's

Lieberman, or, uh, Lieberman.

There are no Democrats left.

I'm afraid it's time for us both to stop fighting the good fight change definitions.

No can do.
As long as the James Dobson's and Pat Robertson's ARE the right of the republicans, I can't do it.

I won't choose a Trent Lott, CCC right over a Moveon-Soros-Kosite left and vice versa.

I also cannot lend any support to any democrat OR the party.

I know some great people who remain active there, and I have told them they are out of their gourds. If I mention Qutb, they have NO IDEA what I am talking about.
If I am talking to the religious right in the repubs up here and I tell them they don't have the right to tell someone they CANNOT get an abortion (alto they can insist on their taxes not paying for it)based on their faith, they think I am some kind of shrieking godless leftists.

The leadership of both sides is obnoxious to me.
Mitch Mcconnell? Harry Reid? Dick Durbin?

You think a Barry Goldwater, or a Harry Truman could work to support the policies of either side as a good soldier?

Government DOES have a function in society.
There are bad guys out there and we need to take obnoxious actions to kill them.

No party espouses that in one.
That's because right now we are completely polarized.
The left is worse, but that doesn't mean the right doesn't suck.

Well that woke me up
;)

US Democratic presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich should move to Syria and run there. A True American would never put down the United States and those Soldier's Protecting our country from terrorists. Syrians are letting terrorists through their country to Kill our American Soldiers.

The new Benadict Arnold.

Kucinich stands firmly among leftist, hate-America crackpots - as
does most of the Democrat party in the USA.

You obviously don't have any understanding of dog training. When you are trying to get a dog to do what you want, and to behave, you reward good behavior and punish bad behavior.

The Bush administration has done nothing but rape and pillage the middle east. Dennis Kucinich is trying to help repair the damage that the Bush administration has done, and is trying to build a bridge toward civil discourse and cooperation. You begin the process by reinforcing the good behavior that has been displayed. This is what Kucinich is doing.

Those who oppose these efforts are nothing but gun-slinging macho idiots who don't know what diplomacy is. They are all so full of hate and fear that they can't think logically. If we, as a nation, can't calm down and stop buying into the fear-mongering and hate talk that the Bush administration is slinging about, we'll never get out of the Bush pot of filth that we're currently trapped in.

You should calm down and let cooler heads like Dennis Kucinich prevail. Stop being so reactionary, hateful, and fearful. If you want peace and prosperity, this is the only way. Continued macho bullsh*t, fear, and ignorance will never lead us to peace.

Peace is the answer. Taking the path of peace, especially against a raging mob like the USA, right now is what takes REAL COURAGE. We need a leader who is capable of seeing through the Neocon propoganda and deception, and who can steer our country on the proper path to sanity and restored peace and prosperity. Dennis Kucinich is that man.

Go sit down, take a deep breath, count to ten, and calm down. Stop thinking with your reptilian brain, and recover your humanity.

Hey Katherine H, why don't you take a deep hit on the bong, count to ten, and listen to some Indigo Girls, and let the rest of us grown ups think about the big issues. Ok?
