Oriana Fallaci 1929-2006

The counter-jihad movement today has suffered a blow.

Oriana Fallaci, the anti-Islamic cassandra of Europe, freedom fighter against the Nazis and fascists of WW2, defender of Civilization, is no more.

She is one of the few if only journalists in living memory that really did speak "truth to power".

It is incumbent upon all of us to carry on her legacy and her mission.

I ask everyone today to honor this extraordinary warrior journalist who was treated like a criminal by her own country -- Italy -- for denouncing Islamofascism. Please make it a point to visit your local bookstore and ask about "The Force of Reason" and "The Rage and the Price", her two glorious rants in defense of Western Civilization. And if you haven't read them yet, please do! ("Rage and the Pride" is my favorite of the two.) It wouldn't hurt to ask for Brigitte Gabriel, Melanie Phillips, Bat Ye'or and Ayaan Hirsi Ali too. Women speaking out against the worst oppressor of women in the world today: Islam.

What a life! She passionately fought for the West and against the Islamic threat without hesitation or fear. Brava, Orianna! Now it's up to us to live up to that model.

All I can do is say, thanks to her, and hope that she rests in peace.
