Suggestion: Print up cards with those quotes and references (including relevant internet sites). Leave a few wherever dog-walking residents in your area tend to congregate. If 9/11, beheading videos, honor killings, cartoon riots, nuclear Iran, or plane-bomb plots won't move them, maybe the thought of Fido being stoned to death amid shouts of "Allah Akhbar!!!" will do the trick.
I don't know if the Martha's Vineyard pub "The Black Dog" is as popular in the rest of the country as it is here in New England, but they have a big line of products with a big black lab devil dog plastered right across the front. So now we know what to get the folks at C.A.I.R. for Ramadan, don't we... ?
