Ahmadinejad Threatens Europe

Now, good ole' Mahmoud is threatening the Europeans; the only people left who really like him:

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad warned Europe that it should support his country's nuclear program or "suffer the consequences."

In an interview to be published in the German Der Spiegel on Sunday, Ahmadinejad also expressed his doubt regarding the Holocaust, saying that even if it had occurred, the Jewish state should have been established in Europe, not in Palestine.

"I only accept something as the truth if I am truly convinced of it," he asserted.

Oh. My. God.

This guy is such a caricature, it's hard for me to see how even a dyed-in-the-wool liberal sectarian Israel-hater from, say, Glasgow or Kraków or Pankow can fail to take him at his word and understand the threat.

And by the way, isn't there something about the set of his eyes, the slope of his brows and (in this particular picture) the sneer of his lips that just screams "dementia"?

I generally avoid bringing it down to physical appearance, but in some cases it's justified. There was a famous Prussian nobleman, adventurer and author, Friedrich-Perzyval Reck-Malleczewen, who kept a journal under Hitler that cost him his life when it was discovered and was later published under the title "Diary of a Man in Despair" (q.v.). He has a fantastic, prescient meditation on Hitler's physicality that ends with an analysis of the "Greatest Field Marshal of all Time" as suffering from the stigmata of sexuelle Insuffizienz.

Ahmadinejad has me pondering similar diagnoses.

It is hard not to think such thoughts about him, I admit.

"I only accept something as the truth if I am truly convinced of it"? Who is he kidding? He accepts the whole Koran as truth, doesn't he? That clown accepts as truth whatever he likes most, which unfortunately includes the notion that he's commissioned by Allah to dominate us all.
